Always liked the Thomas arms but a recent visit over Christmas and it wasnt as nice as I remember it few years ago .it hasn't got the ambience it had back in the day. Having said that it was nice to see it open ..
Booked for Xmas dinner 2023.We booked for the 12pm sitting. All well on arrival, only 4 tables were occupied when we arrived.The place appeared more run down than when we last visited 5 years ago.We didnt get served our starters until 45 minutes after we arrived. The waiters were short staffed and were inexperienced.The mains were then served about 20 mins after starters. Then the second sitting came at 2pm and it turned into organised chaos. Lovely Mother's day carvery, great value at £13.50 one course. Would like Sunday carvery every week. The only negative is could the friendly staff have a uniform - e.g. polo shirts not a great cost, but would make the staff look more proffessional, many of my other local friends/customers have voiced the same issue.
