Loved The New Crown so much we came two nights in a row. The 1st night we had only just arrived in Merthyr Tydfil on a very busy Saturday night and didn't have a booking. The owner very kindly squeezed us in. It had a lovely buzzy atmosphere, the staff were friendly and efficient and the food was delicious and plentiful. The 2nd night was equally good. The chicken Espetada on the portugese part of the menu was really yummy and the Scampi was great too both with excellent chips....read full review

Great food, beautiful setting and atmosphere, with a live singer. The only reason I didn't give the food a five was because they gave me mozzarella on my bruschetta rather than feta!!
