The Castle Inn
7 Twyn Square, UskVisited this gem of a fund twice this weekend whilst visiting the area. On the first visit I had their absolutely delicious gnocchi (only regret was not asking for a little bit of bread to mop up the last of the sauce). The following day I visited with my elderly mother for Sunday Lynch. Again I had an excellent meal, slow road blade of beef with all the trimmings. As a bonus it was nice to see my mum take down one of the local bar flies in a piece of very good natured banter, much to the amusement of his mates.

Queens Fish & Chips
Rockfield Rd, MonmouthVery delectable food. Top notch fish and chips and great onion rings. Cheesy chips naan is underrated and one of the best things on the menu. Very good prices, not extortionate at all. Great spot worth going.

Zion St, Ebbw Valewe went tonight for my husbands 60th birthday. the chicken skewers were undercooked ( starter) steak pie was a plate full of gravy with meat and 2 lumps of cheese hidden under a pastry top.vegetables were soggy and cold and chips burnt. the castle burger was brick like, with no pulled pork within it served with a small portion of burnt chips. the other meals were equally horrendous which was annoying as we had waited 1 1/2 hours. We asked for the desert menu and was provided with 1 menu for 8 people. After waiting a further 30 minutes for service we decided to cancel and ask for the bill and were told the machine wasn't working. I manually worked out the bill and paid. We were not alone with the disappointment and definitely will not return anytime soon. So many better places to eat locally.

Upper Meend Farm, MonmouthManaged to get a table at short notice while in the area on holiday after seeing the amazing reviews it had & reading about how far in advance they get booked up. Worth every bit of credit given to them by the reviews. Food was outstanding! One of the best burgers I've ever had (& I order them whenever they're on a menu!) Waitress was very friendly & attentive. Lovely setting & big portion sizes. Also very reasonably priced for the size of portions & quality of food. Well worth a visit!

80-82 Monnow St, MonmouthLovely coffee shop with a good selection of pastries and sandwiches etc. Has a small nice covered outdoor area with seating for the kids which makes it safer for them. Great staff and good coffee! Mix of visitors from laptop workers to family groups

Millbrook Garden Centre, Mitchel Troy, MonmouthWhat a fabulous cafe! Virtually everything is made in house. Had a delicious homemade steak pie with veg, chips and gravy for only £11.50. So many other cafés and pubs seem to bulk but their pies and other food which is packed full of ultra processed ingredients. Also great service and very friendly staff. I've included photos of the menu but unfortunately missed off the specials.

Aslan's Fish Bar
2 Priory St, MonmouthI ordered a delivery of Fish & Chips, they arrived on time and nice and hot, the meal was very generous and very tasty and filling, in fact I can have more chips in the morning because there was such a generous amount, the fish was excellent, the person delivering the food was also very friendly ?, oh and I would thoroughly recommend anyone trying their food and the curry was delicious ???

MonmouthWe happened upon The Whitebrook and Chef Chris graciously made room for 2 more for the 9 course Tasting Menu. What a wonderful experience. Manuel and the other staff were so very helpful and the meals were a wonder. Highly recommend!

Commerce House, 95-97 Monnow St, MonmouthWe went for breakfast, we called in advance to ask if they accept dogs and the staff member was really friendly, even helping us with directions on where to park close by, it was the same service when we arrived, staff were really friendly and helpful, if you wanted to remove and item from your breakfast choice then they were offering replacements which doesn't happen much these days!
They have a vast menu selection, we only had breakfast but will definitely be coming back to try lunch or dinner! Extremely dog friendly also, the entire downstairs (which is very large) is where you are able to sit and eat with your dog, upstairs is reserved for no dogs so a perfect balance
The place itself is really nice, very big and set out nicely so let's of space but also the decor is lovely!

Full House
Market Hall, Priory St, MonmouthSunday 16th June 24. Walking up to the full house following the beautiful smells, Ordered Singapore fried rice, spring rolls Kung po sauce and prawn crackers. The lady who took my order was very polite very cool calm and seemed very well organised.
The waiting area was very clean and reasonably comfortable. Plenty of customers coming and going. And after sampling the food I ordered I can see why they are so busy. Everything was cooked to perfection and was super mouth watering tasty. 5 stars all the way. I will be going back for more, and I would highly recommend it to others.

Monnow Bridge Fish Bar, 123 Monnow St, MonmouthA quick meal with decent chips but the extras need some work.
We don't eat fish but were looking for a nice place to eat.
We ate inside which is at the back of the shop. A quaint inside cafe with a nice outside dining area right next o the Monnow bridge.
The chips were fresh and not too oily. We have 2 portions just chips and 2 with cheese and beans.
Both were nice but the cheese was a bit weird and not to our taste. Beans were decent. Cost seemed a bit steep fro what it was and we had people with us from London!
A nice meal with great friendly service by staff and decent atmosphere for a chippie ?

Yummies Pizza
1, The Albion, Cinderhill St, MonmouthAn absolutely fantastic place to order from! While it may be on the pricier side, we consistently relish every item we order. The extra cost is truly justified, and I'm never left feeling dissatisfied.Their additional pizza crust options are also a delightful bonus. It might not be kind to my waistline, but you can't beat the cheesy bite crust!Many thanks for the wonderful pizzas :)
