First time visit for us. A very well run pub and restaurant with a great selection of unusual beers on tap. Large dining room with a log burner fire. A nice menu to choose from with some unusual Portuguese options. Sunday lunch hot and tasty with fresh veg as much as we wanted. Nice starters too and lush looking deserts but we were too full. Clean and well organised throughout.
We visited the carpenters arms to celebrate our wedding reception with family and friends. We were looking for something special and the carpenters meant a lot to us as we had our first date there and they did not disappoint. Nelson went above and beyond for us the room was beautifully set up. The food was outstanding everyone was raving about it. We really can’t thank you enough for making our special day go so smoothly.

Lovely service, the food was simply amazing. We had come in tonight after a long journey, and the owner was gracious enough to let us eat even being fully booked. We are so glad he did as the food was simply fantastic, we had the Steak and Ale pie, and would highly recommend to everyone for the atmosphere and quality of food. Thank you to the owner, chef and server!
