I visited the Malt Shovel for the first time in December 2023. It was for a pre-Christmas meal with neighbours, 2 of whom recommended it. I'm glad they did.Having recently visited for the second time, this time with family, I am very happy to recommend The Malt Shovel to anyone looking for a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, great service, and lovely food.I've already booked for a Valetine's Day dinner with my wife, and I'm really looking forward to it.
We were there for my daughter's 30th and we couldn't have had a better time. Lovely food. The staff couldn't have done enough for us and let us bring our own birthday cake after some super main courses. Special word for the tall lad who served us. It was busy and he was clearly rushing about but he had everything under total control and a great personality. Made the difference!
