I had one of the best pub dinners ever here! I ate from the Christmas party menu, all 3 courses were amazing, especially the blade of beef and the Black Forest torte. Would 100% recommend if you’re in the area!
Really wonderful experience - lovely cosy/ welcoming atmosphere, friendly & helpful staff (lots of them). Delicious Sunday roast - beef, pork & chicken; love the extra pigs in blankets too. Also enjoyed the crumble & custard dessert. Very accommodating as we fiddled with the menu a bit & didn’t overcharge - our hungry student was also very satisfied!! Dad enjoyed the Stag beer. Friendly staff, warm, festive atmosphere and very good food. We had the hake and the calves liver and both were cooked perfectly. The banana bread dessert was a little heavy and didn’t have much of a banana flavour but we enjoyed the gingerbread ice cream. We really enjoyed our lunch and the buzzy festive atmosphere and look forward to returning next time we are in the area.
