The Friars Oak
London Rd, HassocksWe were a large booking with children and the pub was so accommodating! We had dinner in a beautiful back room that meant the toddler especially was able to roam around and not disturb anyone!The food was delicious, and service was fab! They even sang happy birthday to the baby!Special thanks to the kitchen as it was a large order with a variety of items that we hadn’t pre-ordered!

Hampers
117 High St, Hurstpierpoint, HassocksWe asked Hampers to cater our memorial service event and we were truly bowled over by the quality of the food. Sandwiches were light with delicious, generous fillings. We had a lovely selection of sausage rolls, scotch eggs, samosas, cakes and the most amazing quiches. Lots of our guests commented on how great the food was. The communication was very easy and the staff so helpful. Very generous portions as well, we would thoroughly recommend and will be going back for any future events. Thanks to Bob and the team.

Lantern Cottage Bed & Breakfast
19 The Crescent, Keymer, HassocksDebbie is a lovely host this is a premium B&B at excellent value. There is a pub 3 minutes walk and the station is around 20 minutes walk. Very quiet and a lovely bedRooms: Large room and big bed

The Glass House Restaurant
Wickwoods, Shaves Wood Ln, Albourne, HassocksVery good. Beautiful place to eat. The afternoon tea was lovely and had far to much to eat and needed a 'doggybag'.However on a Sunday roast was a bit disappointed as was asked how we liked the beef and we said rare, it came out well done. Bit pointless asking.Would still recommend though.

Old London Rd, Sayers Common, HassocksA group of 11 people for a lunchtime meal. Starters and Mains. Needed to pre order, but this was fine, happy to do so. Food was hot and delicious. Most of us didn't need a dessert, but there were options available. Thank you to Alison and her staff.

Allwoods, London Rd, HassocksThis place is getting better every visit. The cakes are really good. An independent garden centre - more a plant nursery and cafe without all the frippery of the big 'same here/same there' centres. So, don't expect swish and warm!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options mixed with sections, so pizzas/ jackets etc have some options. Can ask to adjust some ingredients.

The New Inn
76 High St, Hurstpierpoint, HassocksThought we'd road test the new chef and menu last weekend. My wife's hake was beautiful, our son thought it was his birthday, with the size of the piece of gammon he was presented with. The burger, the best I've had in a long time. Great local beef, nice bacon and fantastic burger sauce. Everything home made with nice little touches.
