We called in here twice, as a couple, while staying in Thornton over Christmas. We only had drinks but on both occasions the staff were friendly and helpful, the drinks v.reasonably priced, and the roaring fire most welcome!!

Nice pub with roaring fire ? recently went for the Sunday roast. It was average I was expecting more as everyone I know says it was amazing....it was just ok. I didn't like the cats roaming around and under your feet. A bit off putting probably won't revisit for food.
