Bar • “Booked a table for 5 of us last minute for a Sunday afternoon roast at beginning of September while staying in a cottage locally. Probably one of the best roasts ever. The beef was cooked to perfection as were the vegetables which were a good selection. The roasties were delicious as was the separate cauliflower cheese. The others all had the Yorkshire pudding wraps which were huge and filled with the delicious beef and two had gammon. We also ordered a doggy Sunday dinner and this came with lots of lovely meat and all the trimmings in the delicious gravy! We forgot to take pics of our meals just the dogs! Service was faultless from start to finish with great staff and beautiful views from our table too. Hopefully will visit Yorkshire and the area again soon and wouldn’t hesitate visiting The Winterburn again. Thoroughly recommended.”

It has about 8 cask ales, all well kept and about a dozen or so keg beers.Nice warm place with a good atmosphere.It's also near to the theatre and is great for a pre or post performance drink.It does food in the way of pizzas etc but I can't comment on the price or quality.”

“Family lunch again today. Damien (landlord) lovely fella, very polite excellent customer service.All our meals were good home cooked food, compliments to the chef, excellent value for money, less than £25 for 3 Inc drinks. Would highly reccomend”

“We called in for a late lunch on our way home from Manchester, we didn't have a booking but we were fitted in. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was excellent, freshly cooked and delicious, unlike the usual chain pub food. The surroundings are lovely, will be back next time we go over the Pennines.”
