Did a search for places to eat on a business trip, we were nrsr Scape House so decided to give it a shot...so glad we did. Really friendly and attentive server, nice open fire and amazing food. Black pudding fritters, devilled whitebait and steak and ale pie. Very generous portion size, really well seasoned, delicious pie with nice jus and veg. Went for dinner today and just had to review. Between us we had king prawn, black pudding and salt and pepper wings to start. Followed by belly pork, chicken Kiev, beef stew with horseradish dumplings and childrens chicken dinner. To finish an apple crumble and some ice creams. I can honestly say that everyone really enjoyed each course and it was empty plates all round. I saw the earlier review about the stew and gave it a go anyway. Situated with great views over the valley this is a traditional pub offering good food and drink with parking opposite. Our party enjoyed a selection of starters which were all enjoyed including black pudding fritters with a spicy chilli jam, battered brie wedges , garlic mushrooms, chicken liver parfait and very good french onion soup.
