We were staying nearby for a few days and were lucky to find this gem practically on the doorstep. A great selection of ales, well kept, and served by very friendly staff. The regulars here were very welcoming as well.

Good pint of Tim Taylor's available here - and a nice view from the beer garden whilst drinking it. Real out of the way place and grea to come across it when needing some refreshment. Good for walkers exploring the valley.

Had a fantastic meal here. Go hungry if you want to eat ‘The Whale on a plate’.. excellent fillet steak cooked as requested and a meaty pie… I love the chips … great service from a young waitress. Highly recommend. Pub food done exceptionally ?
