We recently visited the Hawthorn (again) to celebrate our Wedding anniversary. The food, cocktails and service were all fantastic as we've come to expect from all at the Hawthorn, the anniversary card on the table was a lovely touch. The cocktails we're especially good this time round (not that they're anything else when we've been before). The spicy pineapple margarita was a real punch of fruit and spice (well nice) but the cherry blossom sour was one of the best cocktails we've ever had (and we've sampled a few over the years). We love the Hawthorn ❤️

Not been here for over 15 years (for no reason ) and we came on a spur of the moment decision early doors on a Saturday. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Food, service from every member of staff, and atmosphere all great, and the garlic naan was the best we’d had in years. It certainly won’t be 15 years until our next visit ! I’d be back next week given the chance! ??

Love this pub. Have visited over the years and it still retains its old world charm, but with a modern twist. The sunday lunch is amazing, especially the cauliflower cheese and huge perfectly cooked yorkshire pud. A real Sunday treat. Wish I could show a picture but, it didn't last that long.

Gone here all my life and always loved the fish and chips, one of the best in the area. But the last few times we’ve been they just keep missing items.
The first time was curry sauce, in which we ended up going to another local to grab another one.
We’ve not been ages due to this, but thought we’d try again.
This time, they forgot our fish, we live too far away to go back.
We do like it here but from now on if we do go, we will check our order in the car before going home.

We ate at the Balti House on Christmas day. The staff were friendly, attentive and efficient. The food choice was good as were the portion sizes. On booking we were asked if we wanted curry or a turkey dinner....Naz couldn't have been more helpful, allocating a table where we had plenty of room for our granddaughter's wheelchair which is bigger than most, and making sure we could leave with minimum fuss when she'd had enough. Many thanks to all for a stress-free family meal.

Great location if a little windy as you'd expect on the Yorkshire moors.

I believe I rate places quite fairly and I’ve got to say I’ve been so impressed with Jelanis so far.

I’ve tried a lot of takeaways in the local area and Keighley and they’re always disappointing, well so far I think this place has got something good going on.

We’ve ordered the Korma Curry Pizza and gourmet burger and have really enjoyed the quality of the pizza, the dough is much better than anywhere else we’ve tried locally and the taste is really good.

The gourmet burger is quite tasty and all reasonably priced

We do find the cost is better if you call them rather than order through Just eat, just means you need some cash with you - but we saved around £5 for the equivalent order on Just eat.

Super atmosphere with really friendly staff
The owners have made a real effort to make the Tap and Tonic welcoming with plenty of tables and seating. The main bar has Sky TV but somehow this doesn’t take over and it’s not noticeable as the decor takes centre stage. If the main room is too busy for you go next door(same pub) where it is really chilled with great music and vibes

The food is great with plenty of choice and good value.
It’s quite small and is generally fairly busy so has a nice atmosphere with a mix of families, couples and other groups.

Great cafe, called in today while visiting the Worth Valley Railway for lunch, didn't fancy the platform foods.

Had a cheese and egg toastie and it was stacked!
(you will remember me now and said you will have a glowing review).

The cafe was clean with large windows to make it a light airy place. The food was spot on and the staff friendly, polite and accomodating as cheese and egg toastie was not on the menu.

This cafe gets a full 5/5 star review from me and I wil be heading there next time I visit the KWVR.

I’ve eaten many fish and chips over the years, but oh my blooming goodness, the fish was steamed to perfection with golden crispy batter, with crispy on the outside, fluffy in the middle chips. COMPLETELY understand why there was a queue out the door and 3 stood on the pavement. £20 fed 4 easily as the portions were generous, I’m actually glad they’re selective with their opening times or I’d be the size of a house ?

You can eat in or take out but it’s mostly geared for take outs as we had a bit of a wait before our food arrived. The food is popular with the locals but it’s more mild British Asian flavours rather than desi flavours. The restaurant itself is clean and it’s probably got the cleanest toilets compared to the other Asian and Turkish restaurants in Keighley. Staff are incredibly nice. Overall it was a nice meal and we would recommend a visit if you like cafe style restaurants that are not posh.

The portions are large and done to a very high standard.
By far the best take away in town.
Excellent service
Used the online booking and everything was perfect and considerably cheaper than just eat so would recommend using their online form.
Communication was good, time was bang on and driver called for directions and found us despite being an awkward delivery address.
Favourite curry in a long time would highly recommend on every level

The Percy Vears is a real ale pub serving well-kept beers, lagers, and ciders. It also has a good selection of spirits.
It is cheaper than most pubs in the area but it doesn't compromise on quality.
Dogs are welcome, and a water bowl is available.
The staff and regular customers are friendly and very helpful. It is a small pub with a cosy feel. Many who visit once come back again.

Kid-friendliness: Children are welcome if kept under control and away from the bar. They must be out by 7 p.m. There are snacks and a selection of soft drinks suitable for children.

We had a lovely meal here, all staff were polite, friendly and helpful.
Dishes are underpriced in my opinion due to the quality of the food ?
The lamb chops were in an amazing marinade, full of flavour and beautifully tender.

The masala fish was cooked perfectly, had a light, spiced, crispy and flavourful coating which left me wanting more.
The fish itself was thick and perfectly cooked!
The butter chicken was aromatic, well spiced and seasoned. this paired with aloo paratha was beautiful.
The aloo paratha were also a good size and delicious ?

I recently tried Hong Kong Chinese Takeaway and I’m genuinely so impressed.

The tofu was absolutely incredible, perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and easily one of the best I’ve had. The mifan was also spot on and complemented everything really well. You can tell care goes into the food here.

What really stood out, though, was the service. The lady who took my order was amazing. We had such a lovely conversation and she was so warm and friendly. It made the whole experience feel really welcoming, especially as someone who has just moved into the area.

I’m so happy to have found this place right across the street and I’ll definitely be returning as soon as I can. I’m really looking forward to exploring more of their menu and discovering more authentic Chinese dishes here.

Tried the chicken donner from Shimlas Express and it was excellent. The chicken was full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and really tender. The portion size was generous, and it came fresh and hot. I didn't get the individuals name but he was absolutely lovely and made myself and my guests feel so welcome we didnt want to leave and will be returning again soon, we all ordered our own meals as no one likes same meal so this was a one stop shop and we all got what we wanted... he even went out of his way to put sparklers in matilda cake and as we were leaving we were given another on the house. Lovely boozer! Admittedly the missus and I only called in to that Marquis as we were about tp begin our walk along the Leeds/Liverpool canal in to Shipley. As I told the lovely staff behind the beer, ours was the best pint of Saltaire Blonde we'd had,
possibly ever.

On our way to Saltaire Brewery though, so that may change.

Nice local bar with a nice crowd and friendly, efficient bar staff. The beer selection might not be huge, but it's well kept and interesting and is regularly rotated. The decoration is quirky and interesting and there's a real fire on the cooler evenings with a decent outdoor space when the weather is more comfortable.
