Peonies Cafe
33 Main St, Cross Hills, KeighleyMy Husband and I popped in to the cafe for the first time yesterday. We were greeted warmly by the staff who we found out were Mum and Daughter. The decor of the cafe is so cute and clean. We had cappuccinos which came in two good size mugs and were delicious ?
We were delighted on leaving to receive a gift of cake as we'd mentioned we were moving into our new home that day. Such a lovely thoughtful treat! A huge thank you to Kelly and Kath! You made our day!

The Robin Hood
19 Kirkgate, Silsden, KeighleyWe booked for a group of ten of us from Spice Social. This pub catered for our dietary requirements and served a delicious Sunday lunch, hot and with generous portions. We were pushed for time as we were on a hire boat and had to get back to Skipton, but the service was fast and efficient. Really really good.

Computer Universe
19A Briggate, Silsden, KeighleyTook a broken hard drive in for advice. They did a lot of testing in store but unfortunately my problem was too severe, so recommended a data recovery company instead. Didn't charge for their time and were very friendly and knowledgeable! Thank you.

The Inn at Eastburn
Main Rd, Steeton, Eastburn, KeighleyHad a brilliant visit to The Inn at Eastburn and felt it deserved a proper mention on here.
What the owners Graham and Sarah are doing is honestly fantastic. The place is warm, spotlessly clean, and has that proper traditional pub feel that’s getting harder and harder to find these days. It’s very much an adult-only pub in the old-school sense – relaxed, friendly, and full of great banter.
The food isn’t a big restaurant-style service, and they’re very upfront about that – it’s proper lite bites done well, served one dish at a time. But the quality and value are excellent. Think proper pub classics like steak pies, pasties, sausage rolls, pork pies with mushy peas, and even things like chicken masala or lentil curry if you want something different. Everything is very reasonably priced, which is refreshing these days.
What really stands out though is the philosophy behind the place. The owners are clearly passionate about keeping pubs affordable and doing it the old-fashioned way – working hard themselves and keeping prices fair for customers. You can feel that genuine effort when you’re there.
Add in well-kept real ales, friendly conversation, and a relaxed atmosphere, and you’ve got exactly what a neighbourhood pub should be.
If you’re looking for fancy dining this isn’t the place – but if you want a proper, welcoming pub with good honest food, great prices, and cracking company, this place absolutely delivers.
Hope to see more pubs follow their lead. ?

George's Place
21 Briggate, Silsden, KeighleyWe have been getting Chinese from George's place for years now. Best one in the local area, with authentic taste, freshly prepared vegetables and not from the supermarket frozen bag, like others. Short waiting time, welcoming and smiling staff. You need to try Ok Sauce ribs!!

Kings Arms
Bolton Rd, Silsden, KeighleySmall pub, older folk, always had a nice pint and can't knock it at all. Just feel more needs to be done outside for beer garden or side of pub overlooking the stream running past. Be nice to sit there watching the water.

Red Lion Hotel
47 Kirkgate, Silsden, KeighleyStaff were really lovely, made me feel so welcome. Just stopped off for lunch which was nice. Cosy pub and very clean. Only downside was the locals taking over a bit. Loud and not particularly relaxing.

Kings Arms
80 High St, Sutton-in-Craven, KeighleyGrowing up in Sutton I have seen the Kings Arms go through a couple of changes over the years, and I'm really impressed with it's latest transformation.
As you walk in you are greeted by the familiar feel of a typical friendly British village pub, with friendly bar staff ready to engage in conversation. The decor is both traditional and modern at the same time and the prices are reasonable.
They have all sorts of different nights on, as well as a lovely area to sit outside on the sunnier afternoons and watch the world go by, and games to play in the back room.
If you are visiting for a day, or love locally and haven't tried it out, make sure you add it to your list - you won't regret it.
Parking: There is no car park, but there is on street parking, you night just have to walk a bit. Due try and park respectfully, people who live nearby also need to park, and the narrow roads make it hard to pass sometimes.

Purple Garlic
7 Bolton Rd, Silsden, KeighleyWe had a takeaway from here a few weeks ago and decided to eat in.
We turned up without a booking and were seated without a wait.
The experience was better eating in as the sizzle plates give you the full effect that you just don't get at home from a container.
Dishes are nicely flavoured without being overly hot.
The food was again, really tasty & fresh. We've been to quite a few Indian restaurants in Ilkley, Guiseley and Skipton and we both rated this one as great.
The staff here are very friendly too.
