The staff are very friendly and helpful, the atmospher was great and the food was amazing. We ordered the battered hake and the chicken wellington and all thoroughly enjoyed it. I would definately recommend and if we're ever passing through Downton again I would visit again. ?

26 of us from our mountain biking club, including partners, visited The Goat today for our post Christmas lunch. The venue was superb accommodating us in a delightful dining area, the food and service were both excellent. Also, a very good selection of locally brewed ales was the icing on the cake. Thanks to Karolina and her friendly team for a most enjoyable lunch - would highly recommend.

I am a very picky person when it come to pub/ restaurants but this is my favourite! I now live in Downton village and the staff and owners are friendly and extremely efficient. Darren and Karolina run a beautiful large pub with a great choice of menu (and just have to say the marmite roast potatoes are to die for! ) We took our family of 11 there for Christmas dinner for the first time this year and we all loved it.
