Great vibe in an olde world style. They do 3 varieties of picked egg (!!!) and perhaps too many ales. Mine didn't keep its head as is often the case when many ales are on offer. Take a look around you and order whatever is popular as it will be of a better standard due to the turn around. Plenty of boxed (probably dangerous) cider. The most awe inspiring pub I've ever been to. Never a dull moment as there's always someone up for having a chirp. Beer selection of beer is always surprising snd entertaining, always some from local breweries on offer - also plenty of humourously named real ales. You can tell they've been doing it for years. Fantastic pub! Best in Reading but if you fancy a Carling and/or want to watch the footy go to O'Neill's. Proper old style pub serving real ales, real cider/perry and mead, but they do, do Czech Budvar and possibly another guest lager if that is your bag. Wide range of bottled beers and they do have a small wine and basic spirit selection if that is your thing.
