Tried to go to the Prince.. oh dear... took a look at the Plough, barely any better. Went to the Butchers; bingo! Nice staff, nice punters, nice evening. Best pub in the centre of Tilehurst.
Love this lovely little pub, very friendly locals make you feel welcome, it's under new management and she seems friendly and has done so much to the pub already very clean and making more welcoming for families, with a play area. it's popular with dog walkers as well always welcome

Called in here to check it out and was pleasantly surprised - we had a very warm welcome from the chaps in the bar who chatted away to us. Very friendly and welcoming place. Beer was good and well kept. Spent a lot longer in here than we planned to as we were having such a nice time! Dog friendly, bar staff are friendly. We will be back!
