Pathila Tandoori Takeaway
Chequers Parade, Wycombe Rd, Prestwood, Great MissendenEverything was super fresh, from the meat to the veg. The food wasn’t greasy, and each curry actually tasted different and was full of flavour – not like some curry houses where everything feels like the same base sauce with a different colour thrown in. You could really taste the individual spices rather than just heat.
Portion sizes were generous, and everything was nice and hot. Even the sides were done properly, not an afterthought. I'd recommend one of their Indi boxes to get to try a bit of everything.
Service was really nice and friendly, and the place itself was clean and welcoming. It’s one of those spots that quietly gets on with doing things properly rather than trying to be flashy.

The Cock & Rabbit Inn
The Lee, Great MissendenNice pub in a lovely village. They also have a cafe as part of the pub where you can get a hot drink and cake ?. They also do hot food which we didn't try on this occasion. The cakes are homemade and very delicious. There is also an option of gluten free. Sat in the garden and enjoyed the sunshine.

56 High St, Great MissendenWe had chicken Tikka Passnda, Lamb Madras, Pilau Rice and Peshwari Nan bread. Everything was absolutely delicious. This is one of the best Indian restaurants that I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. We are visiting from Canada (having moved from the UK in 2001) weeks miss quality Indian food - and this made up for it!
We will be visiting this restaurant again, before returning home to Canada. Outstanding job by all staff too. Thank you

Prestwood Plaice
6, Chequers Parade, Wycombe Rd, Prestwood, Great MissendenI’ve been eating at these owner F&C Shop since since I was 7. 20 years later and I still get it. The Best Fish and Chips Shop Hands Down. Although the owners moved Shops about 40 Minutes Away. When I have a Craving for Fish and Chips Nothing hits the spot the same as this. The owners are the most lovely people and I for one sorely miss them and there food from my community. It’s a must try and will never change no matter how far it was.

Bryants Bottom Rd, Great MissendenTook a trip down memory lane and revisited the pub i use to go to with my parents as a kid my dad was very well known here and was so nice to go back the food service was all so amazing and even saw some friendly old faces that new my dad and was so nice to reminisce all these years later can’t recommend enough the food was great good portions kids welcomed all round lovely atmosphere staff are so patient and polite good friendly family old school pub ❤️

The Chequers Tree
High St, Prestwood, Great MissendenPop in on as we passing, and we all needed a meal. The pub had well decorated in the Halloween ? spirit, very friendly staff. Made us feel very welcome. The four of us ordered starters and mains, three of us had the pie choices and a lasagne, very good portions, hot and good quality.. we would now definitely visit again, good atmosphere with lots of locals enjoying their pub

99 High St, Great MissendenLovely cafe located in Great Missenden (a short walk from the Roald Dahl museum). There was no seating inside the cafe however there was a small lunch bar area outside the cafe. The stools were very wobbly and didn’t feel safe to be sitting on them. We took our lunch to the museum.
We decided to have baguette and a sandwich for my child. The ham was lovely and thick cut, and looked like proper ham, rather than the stuff you can buy for cheap. I had a tuna and cucumber baguette which was tasty, and hit the spot. It wasn’t overfilled and it wasn’t underfilled, the cucumber was fresh and cold. The only downside was that the baguette seemed like it was one of those part-baked baguettes you can buy. If it had been a fresh home made baguette, this would have made the lunch 10/10! A nice selection of walker’s crisps and drinks choices.

The Cross Keys
40 High St, Great MissendenThis is a real English pub, it is a wonderful building full of character. The staff are second to none, because they are friendly, polite and very helpful.
The food is delicious, I've just had the prawns for starters, then the burger. Closely followed by toffee and honeycomb cheesecake. I'm as full as an egg.
I'd recommend The Cross Keys to anyone visiting Great Missenden, as the place to visit.

The Polecat Inn
170 Wycombe Rd, Prestwood, Great MissendenThere is a varied and wide choice available and our choices were absolutely superb. The food was truly excellent as was the service. Leo, our waiter, couldn't have been more helpful. He has a wonderful sense of humour and was very attentive to our needs.
Well done to all involved. We will certainly be back.
