We went to the H & F on new year's day for lunch. We opted for the fixed price lunch menu (about £50) from memory. A very tasty sausage roll appeared on a dish so small it looked a bit silly & the dishes that followed were quite underwhelming. The only sides available were mash & brussel tops - come on Tom - is that really it? They were £6.50 each & the mash though delicious was barely lukewarm. Lovely location Cosy, relaxing small inside Friendly, attentive staff Good menu selection Extremely generous portions The quality of food was amazing I personally did not like the fact that food and drink menus were brought to our table on 2 separate tablets for us to scan through. Went for lunch on a Monday lunchtime. Turned up ordered pre dinner cocktails, invited to sit down then ushered in without getting our drinks? Set menu has only 2 x choices - ordered off The A La Carte menu and our food was OK but highly unusual flavours. The chocolate cake was so bitter it was almost inedible. We paid £100's for a meal that was average and forgettable. Real shame.
