While visiting Milton Keynes on holiday from America, I got the chance to have a meal at Turtle Bay right around the corner from my hotel. Excellent service and amazing food! Had the salmon with rice and sweet plantains and it was one of the better meals I had during my trip over. It also was helpful for someone like myself, who has Crohns and must strictly monitor my diet. Very thankful for finding this place for an early dinner! Highly recommend!!

My hubby and I had dinner here last night and really enjoyed our food. The staff were so friendly and the lady who served our table was such a lovely, polite lady (sadly I didn't catch her name). We had the mushroom starter, which I think is quite new on the menu, and it was absolutely delicious. My pie duo was very tasty indeed. Super authentic food, excellent quality and very reasonable pricing.
Portions were plentiful, service was great and all in all, we had a great time. I'm really glad I did ordered the chicken starters and Biryani was incredibly delicious and flavorful, perfectly cooked with aromatic spices that made every bite a delight.
The ambience of the restaurant was vibrant and welcoming. It had a warm, family-friendly vibe, making it a comfortable place to relax and enjoy a meal. The service was also impressive-quick and efficient, with friendly staff who made sure everything was to our satisfaction.
Overall, Papa J's exceeded my expectations, and I would definitely recommend!!

I’d probably give a 3.5 star review, but I’ve decided to round up to 4.

The service and atmosphere in here is pleasant and good. Clean tables and pretty decor.

Selection of food is also very good, although our first two choices were sold out so we had to settle for something else.

Great that they offer beef sausage and beef bacon. Usually find that halal establishments skimp and do turkey bacon and chicken sausage which is a very sad alternative.

All dishes presented very well.

Most impressed by the loaded toast, probably the most enjoyable meal we ordered and best value for money.

The cheesy split burgers and beef tagine were fine, but quite pricey for what they were. I feel that the meat actually could have benefitted from having a bit more fat content, since the meat in both was quite tough.

Coffees and cakes were much more enjoyable, though still pricey. I’d say the caramel(?) milk cake was the highlight.

Bubble tea was more ice than tea. Would have to ask for less ice next time.

We probably would visit again but would be a bit more careful about what we order.

What can I say, me and my friend had the most amazing time at the festive bottomless brunch at TGI’s, and a huge part of that was down to Louis. From the moment he seated us, his service was absolutely incredible.

Louis was upbeat, friendly, and genuinely so attentive throughout the entire experience — nothing was too much trouble. He kept the energy high, made sure our drinks were always flowing, and truly made our night unforgettable.

The food tasted amazing, great festive choices and the most incredible cocktails to match!

You can tell Louis he loves what he does, and it really shows. The service we received from him completely made our evening.

The atmosphere and experience at this TGI's thanks to all the staff is just brilliant, it terms of bottomless it far better than any other we have experienced (and we've been to a few!)

But again thank you, Louis, for making our night so special — we’ll most definitely will be back!

Nice enough place to eat - food was ok although the roast dinner veg was predominantly peas (yuck) and my sister's slow cooked beef was chewy. The pudding of white choc and pistachio tart was dull tasting. My husband liked his slow cooked beef and the kids enjoyed their dinner. Staff were very friendly and helpful, they even brought my daughter a couple of white choc straws to have. It was easy to find and useful halfway meeting point for us. Would potentially return.

This is my local branch, and I always enjoy coming here. Whether I eat alone, or with a friends the staff and food is very, very good. The staff get to know you, and they along with the manager always say hello and Goodbye. Served by Tricia today who my family and I have known since the 80’s when we regularly visited the Loughton branch. The fact she still recognises me is testament to here excellent service skills. Always a pleasure to see her and the rest of the team!

It's a bit off the beaten path, but The Black Horse is a cozy spot with plenty of space and tasty variety for lunch and dinner. We had a company event in a side room which was nice and private for a group of 20, and everything was fabulous, etc. Don't worry there's plenty of space for the rest of you in the main part of the restaurant. The scallops and sea bass were both amazing, with a bonus of crispy bacon adorning the scallops. Too bad the Brussels weren't also crispy, but we can't get everything we want. The steak had good reviews by those who ordered it (tip: order one less temp than you want since rare was medium rare). Vegan pot pie or whatever that was didn't look appealing, but the brownie/ice cream dessert made amends. Speaking of desserts I probably should have gotten the crème brûlée, and generally the desserts all looked great. Service was excellent and hopefully we'll return soon.

We had a very large party of nearly 30 people, and the upstairs space was great! I had the pad thai. The pad thai was pretty decent overall. However, prawns were small. The pad thai and chicken in the pad thai could have a bit richer flavor - although I appreciated that the pad thai wasn’t over saturated in sauce flavor so I could appreciate the texture. I liked the peanuts and sprinkled fried shallots, they were a nice touch. The portion size was medium, not too small but not too big. For desert, the raspberry sorbet was very good. Overall I think this is a pretty good restaurant!

Booked online was quick n easy.
Requested soft seats but every seat is soft and comfy. Did get option to send a message via the booking system but didnt get a reply not sure if I was meant to.
Very flexible to enable me and my friend to share a dish, even gave us 2 plates without asking.
Good condiments on the table.
Not sure why but mainly the first room seems to bounce the sound around the room, been before and with music was really hard to hear conversation across a table. Today music wasn't on which did help the chat (im sensitive to noise and have no trouble hearing!). The 2nd area seemed a bit quieter and others I know say its a bit noisy, more to do with the ceiling height, acoustics or something rather than volume/number of people. But the food choice is worth it so happy to talk louder! Very popular with babies the 2nd section was definitely more comfortable for chat volume.
The service for drinks prior to food was a little delayed but they were busy and due to a fab drinks menu, they take time to prepare for some customers, we just had a juice and an iced latte but obviously more time is needed for milkshakes etc. brother customers.
The actual food, eggs benedict was tasty although for my personal liking I'd prefer it a lot warmer, say hot rather than warm, maybe cos they were busy but I think they are always busy! I have experienced tastier hollandaise but that's just a personal thing.
Upon leaving a waitress suggested to my friend that had we, had mentioned, prior to paying (my friend was just giving great feedback as to how we appreciated them accommodating us to share a dish - not cost related, portion size related!), that if we would give a 5star review we would've got a discount. I kind of get this but tbh mostly don't think its appropriate. Not sure if thays 100% true as the waiter was new. Maybe if there was either a loyalty scheme or owners wanted to give Google reviews a discount, post review, at their discretion, I think would be more appropriate and appreciated by customers, but not so public aware, just my thoughts.
Finally, the overall experience was a positive one. Whilst a disabled Toilet I guess is not mandatory, but baby nappy option, I did suggest that a handrail would be helpful for those less mobile and may also encourage an older generation to visit. Particularly as they have a small egg options on their menu/happy to accommodate the smaller palette. I didnt notice smaller portions for children so maybe its more of an adult / baby venue. Looks like a great place for a family gathering, baby shower, retirement/leaving gathering. I'd been twice before but long time ago, tbh was put off as always so busy with mums and prams. Being able to book is essential in my personal opinion.

Good McDonald's located near the City Centre. Been going for years here but always check your order before you drive away. We had adjustments to our meal and on one of them they forgot the part NO mayo. Otherwise good portion sizes food was still warm when we got home and nicely salted French fries that were not soggy like some McDs.
Overall one if the best McDonald's however lost a star as mayo in the chicken burger so one of our eaters went hungry as they are allergic.

Miles Restaurant is perfectly located in the centre of Milton Keynes, with plenty of convenient paid parking nearby. We visited as a party of three and had a truly enjoyable meal from start to finish.

We began with a selection of assorted appetisers, which were beautifully presented and full of flavour. For the main course, we shared a generous mixed grill platter served over incredibly delicious white rice, accompanied by a fresh and crisp green salad. Every item was cooked perfectly, tender, and richly seasoned.

To finish, we enjoyed a traditional Turkish dessert, which was the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal.

The food was outstanding, the service was attentive and friendly, and the restaurant itself was clean and comfortable. Overall, it was a great experience, and we will definitely be returning. Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality Turkish cuisine in Milton Keynes.

What a gem! Managed to get a walk-in table for 2 on an early Saturday evening but would recommend a booking. Great friendly staff (who pointed us to the correct car park when they noticed we're a bit lost ?), lovely interior and food to die for. Massive bonus points for detailed allergen info next to each dish, including dairy - from someone on a non-dairy diet, you wouldn't believe how rare it is in non-vegan places for me to be just able to order off the menu without an awkward conversation and delaying the whole table! Varied tapas, every single one we had (and we had a lot for 2 people) a hit, but especially worth a shout out were sautéed mushrooms, battered cod and pork croquettes. Plus, the white sangria! After work, and shopping for essentials, I found myself on a street full of various restaurants and takeaways. I chose this one as I'd never had Nigerian food before and thought I'd give it a try... WOW...I am so glad that I did.
Right from the start I told the young lady at the counter that I didn't have a clue what to order and left it up to her. After some simple questions on my favourite things to eat, she suggested the Joloff Rice served with chicken and a portion of plantain.

She described the heat but told me it wasn't too much and would be very tasty.

When it came, I had to drive home for the next 15 minutes, with the most incredible aroma coming from the bag on the seat next to me.

The portion of rice was huge, with a really big chicken thigh and 5 wonderful pieces of plantain.
I ate, what I thought was, more than enough and kept the rest for work tomorrow. That great idea lasted for about 45 minutes until I wolfed down the rest of the meal.

The taste was incredible...bursting flavours in every mouthful.
I am a definite convert now and plantain has a top spot on my future shopping trips.

I would happily recommend this restaurant as your first experience of Nigerian food or, if you've known about these flavours for years...go there and see what magic they create...!

Bit cold when I visited yesterday night at 7pm. As this place has high ceilings and loads of space. Service was good as expected as there were only 2 tables occupied. There were plenty of veg options compared to pizza express. Butterbean stuffato was so good. Would defo go back just for that. Kids set menu had standard options. These guys do the best kebabs on the planet! My first was in '98 and became an immediate favourite when I was living and working in MK. When I moved to Surrey in 2000, I always made a point of picking lunch up from here when visiting my parents in Bletchley...fish and chips for them, sausage and chips or fishcake for the kids, doner ( always ) for me.Sadly, don't get to MK so much anymore, though did manage to grab a kebab a few days ago en route to visiting friends in Newport Pagnell. Food is tasty and authentic and the portions are large. The menu is compact, but I don't see that as a bad thing.

Another visit to Blancs on 2nd October. As usual excellent service, particularly from Cláudie our very attentive waitress.
Food was great, with the pan-fried wild mushrooms starter and the wild-caught main course plaice being particular highlights. Both were perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic.
New wine list with a great selection of vegan wines and French music were an added bonus. I love the new ‘more French focused’ look and feel.

Amazing vegetarian café / restaurant run by the friendly Camphill community with Chrysalis Theatre. They make great food with love.

Their baked vegan Rosemary Focaccia bread is delicious and not excessively soaking in virgin olive oil.

The café employs and shows compassion to neurodiverse staff, who may have learning difficulties and mental health challenges. The differently-abled café staff are friendly, kind and very helpful.

We need more places like this across the country / planet earth.
