When you’ve tasted the French onion soup it’s difficult to choose anything else as a starter, so my husband tells me. Although the prawn cocktail and the beetroot are my personal favourites. The staff are attentive and always on hand to top up your drink, or advise you on the menu. Thank you. Sarah x

This was the first time I’d visited Upstairs at The Grill and it certainly won’t be the last time, I really enjoyed it. We booked an early evening meal at 6.30 with friends. We all enjoyed the great service. We were shown to seats in the bar and talked through the cocktails. We last came around 10yrs ago and my partner has raved about it since. So I booked a couple of nights in chester and a meal here as a birthday surprise. It went down a treat. We shared a porterhouse steak it was unreal ! Every detail from the pre cocktails to the wine in your carafe in your table and the beautiful food is top drawer. We've ate at the likes of Wolfgang puk steak restaurant and upstairs at the grill trumps the lot ❤️
