Arrived early to decorate the table for a Baby Shower which was not a problem and Katie helped and greeted me on arrival. WOW the food was delicious ?, they checked allergies and needs before we started and they did not rush us throughout the High Tea. The mother to be was surprised with a mocktail and cake. Highly recommend the High Tea for that special occasion.

It was a friend's 75th birthday. We booked up at the forum. Pleasant lady took our booking and I had a reminder by text on the day which was good. We went down and were made so welcome and shown to our table. We had a fantastic meal and all of us really enjoyed the atmosphere and level of service which was we received. They made our friends birthday really special and we can't recommend them enough. Will definitely return.

Came to Indian Spice for my cousin’s stag do a few weeks ago. It’s quite a small venue in the High Street and there was about fifteen of us, so if you’re planning on dining-in the restaurant, reservation is advised. Especially if you’re having a big party.

However, the service was excellent, with meals planned and organised accordingly for our party. Although there was a miscommunication regarding some of the orders, they did give us a special on the house as compensation. I was very pleased with my starter and main, and thought the food was excellent.

Thanks to the staff for making us welcome and giving us a great meal at a good price. Indian Spice is a good place.

Brilliant experience! My friend and I went for the first time shortly before Christmas, and didn’t realise that the Carvery closed at 2:30 when we tried to order at just after half past. Even though they’d started putting the Carvery away, the manager Sarah insisted it was fine to take it out and get us quickly sorted with our drinks and Carvery tickets. She also went and put our drinks on the table while we got the Carvery, and was just brilliant throughout. The Carvery itself was absolutely lovely, and really reasonably priced. We stayed for a few hours and had some more drinks an water and dessert. It started off nice and quiet in the mid-afternoon, but when we left in mid-evening it had a really nice vibe with lots of people but still pleasant. Would definitely be glad to go back again. Also loved the Greene King app (including how it lets you tip via the app, and also donate to Macmillan Cancer Research charity).

Always polite when calling to order so 5*Food is very fresh and cooked nicely, had in the past chow meins, bbq ribs, foo young, curry sauce , chips, chicken satay all been really nice 5* prices have gone up but they would as cost all round have increased a lot .Recently tried another local Chinese as Ruby was busy and I wasn’t impressed with some of the dishes obviously back using Ruby . Delivery time always between 30-45 mins , I usually order between 7-7.30 so no delays, driver very friendly, would highly recommend for safe choice .

Table booked on New Year’s Eve for my husband and myself, we were seated and offered menu’s on arrival, the restaurant was very busy with it being New Year’s Eve, but have to say the service, food and drinks were amazing, we are regulars at DV8 mostly having food and drinks in the garden area as we tend to have our dogs with us, the food and service was by far the best we have ever experienced, staff were attentive and friendly especially Alfie who made our experience most enjoyable.

First experience in ordering from ChopStix was last Friday 07/12. I initially chose them for the sheer convenience of being able to pre-order online (great system). The delivery was bang on time, very friendly and polite delivery driver. That alone would encourage me to order from them again, but it also happens to be the best quality Chinese takeaway that I’ve had in a long time. Really tasty and high quality king prawns and meat in particular.

Visited this 2024 CAMRA Good Beer Guide pub with Boothroyd Bear. He loves being in Beartown. This locals pub still proudly displays its Boddingtons heritage by the outside sign. I might have been here in the 1970's when ticking off Boddies pubs. Four real ales. Had a lovely pint of Black Hole Brewery Cosmic. A 4.2% beer.

Driven past this chippy many times, and always said we must try it as they do gluten free. Today was the day that the planets aligned: we were going past, it was lunchtime, and they were open. Hallelujah!!! It was well worth it…….
Friendly, helpful owners, freshly cooked fish (in gluten free batter for me) and fantastic chips.
It’s many years since I’ve had ‘chip shop’ fish and chips, as I have a wheat allergy, and these were certainly worth the wait.

Driven through Congleton many times without stopping. Boothroyd Bear decided it was time to rectify this; especially as this is also known as Beartown. First pint in this Joules pub. A brewery chain of exceptional pubs and superb beers. Lovely pint of 3.8% Pure Blonde, one of four real ales on handpump. Lovely interior but as the sun was out we sat in the rear beer garden. Great start to a day out.

Saturday 4th October 2025, My husband and I went to visit Victoria Mill Antique & Craft Centre, housed in a former mill. \n\nMy husband and I entered this wonderful and amazing place with all sorts of objects de art, antiques, vintage clothes, house wares, records, antique and vintage jewellery, furniture and curios. We spent the rest of the day here until it closed at 4.00pm.\n\nMy husband and I started on the fourth floor and worked our way down. After the first hour and half we were both in need of refreshments so we went to ‘The Loft Café’.\n\n‘The Loft Café’ is run by a very friendly and welcoming man called Ian. We found a nice table for two and looked at the small but interesting menu. We both had ham and cheese toasted sandwiches, which were delicious and set us up for the rest of the day. Mark had a pot of tea and I had a decaffeinated latte coffee. We spent a nice hour here.\n\nMark and I then explored the rest of Victoria Mill Antiques Centre.

Googled chip shops, and this was one of the closest, so I gave it a go.
I can honestly say it was one of the best chippys I've ever been too possibly the best
The fish was cooked fresh to order the portion sizes were huge you definitely don't feel hungry after eating there.
The staff were courteous and helpful. The shop was immaculate, and I would definitely make it my regular chippy if it wasn't so far out of my way

Walked in to order as recently moved in right across the road. First impression was that the interior was very tired especially the perspex "Covid Screen" at the counter complete with Yellow & Black sticky warning tape !!!! In dire need of a simple refresh + lick of paint & paper.

Menu is pretty standard stuff and very reasonably priced. If you're paying by card be aware that there's a £15 min spend limit !!! On this visit I ordered Special Foo Yung, Special Green Thai Curry (for the freezer to get my £15 spend in) + carton of Satay Sauce. Foo Yung was acceptable but lacking in a bit of colour. That at too often greyish brown pallette with no sign of fresh green or orange veg !!! Satay sauce was a cracker.

Overall think the current Google Maps Review Average score of 4.2 is about right. Yo get what you pay for as they say.

This is one of those ‘what a find’ special pubs. I think it is owned by Beartown brewery down the road but managed by someone who has designed it and stamped his mark on it. The vinyl records suggests that he is 50s - 60s vintage. Fabulous place and atmosphere. The woman behind the bar was delightful and friendly as was the chap - local - who came in a sat next to me. They do a range of beers and coffee and cakes. Totally love this pub.

Used this chippy whilst travelling through Congleton on a narrow boat. We had 1 large & 1 regular haddock , chips & peas which were excellent however because we were a fair walk from the canal we wanted to eat them straight away. The trays which they were served on weren’t really fit for purpose as they were too small. Perhaps could do with using boxes as other chippys do even if a small charge was made ?

We took our children for breakfast they found somewhere to sit easily was busier than expected. We ordered at the bar with a polite member of staff we asked for alternative scrambled eggs instead of fried on two breakfast this was no problem at all. Breakfast arrived three out of six missing hashbrowns when asking the waitress they where very apologetic and went to get them straight away returned a few minutes later great service. Refillable drinks went down well Only criticism was the tables weren't cleared before we left.

Vanilla in Allseasons catered our wedding, the food and service was exceptional. They have an extensive menu to choose from but will also do something bespoke if you want that. They send out a spreadsheet with the prices of the dishes you are considering which is super helpful. It mans you can change things around without emails for a new quote every time. We went for a free menu tasting and that sold it for us, the food on the wedding day was just as good as it was at the tasting. FYI we had 6 canapes (beef pie with Guinness shot, chorizo & onion tartlet, duck pancakes, ginger, chili tiger prawns, Parmesan shortbread with goats cheese & tomato, feta bits & chili honey), sharing board roast which got all the guests interacting (beef and chicken). The chicken was so moist and well seasoned. For dessert we had sticky toffee pudding in kilner jars which went down a treat with our guests. We had pizzettes for evening food, be careful, this can be messy but is delicious. They cut and served our wedding cake and cheese tower. The service throughout the day was very professional and our communication with the team in the lead up to the wedding was very good, they respond quickly to emails. I really recommend Vanilla as a wedding caterer.

On our first visit to Congleton for many years we were enticed in by the display of cakes and pies in the window and stayed for lunch. \n\nGood call.\n\nJudging by the number of customers who seemed to know each other and the staff at the café it is clearly something of a local institution, and rightly so. My wife’s Egg Benedict was perfect, my Cheese and Onion roll was tasty and well filled, served with a generous fresh salad and a portion of home-made coleslaw. The coffee was excellent, the prices very reasonable, so altogether a very enjoyable experience.\n\nWe will have no hesitation in returning the next time we are in town.
