We've lived local for many years and have seen the Shipwrights go through many stages and management. The recent investment and upgrades have made a made a great Pub even better. We've always found the duty manager and staff to be welcoming and efficient, in what is a very challenging time for the hospitality industry. Please realise that some negative reviews are left by locals who have their own agenda Great food, a well kept cellar, warm fire and welcome. Judge for yourself.
This pub is great for a casual night out and to wine and dine with friends and family . It has breathtaking views across the Helford river , the atmosphere is warm , welcoming and lively . I’ve been visiting for 40+ years and it is always a must go to , and a joy to visit every time . I am shocked by some of the negative reviews . This is a warm welcoming and lively setting .Breathtaking views , great quality real ale , and top seasonal menuParking: The beautiful Helford village does not have parking in the village itself but ample parking in the council car park 10 mins walk away . This is not just a walk … it is a probably the most enjoyable romantic walk through the lane lined with beautiful traditional Cornish cottages . It’s a must for all visitors.
