My wife and I ate here last night, Oct. Steak meal and also scampi, both were very good and well presented, staff were very polite and meals arrived in a timely manner. Prices were I think a fraction too high but having said that acceptable for the quality. Second time we have visited this establishment, last visit was for Sunday carvery which again was of good quality, we visit Newquay regular and would happily visit the Griffin again.
If we were local this would be our regular pub. I can't fault the service. We have been in every day of our holiday. The menu is varied. We had tea here one night and the food was tasty and good value for money. Not expensive.The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome. Although it is in town it still has that local pub feel. Would highly recommend a visit or 2 when in Newquay. You will not be disappointed. Would give it more * if an option. Highly recommended. Wish this...read full review

Feels like a local pub with amazing food. I had the turf and surf and I have to say, it was excellent! This is beyond your normal standard pub grub, I was pleasently surprised ?Food & drinks: The food tastes fresh and as though the chef cares what they're doing.
