Outlaw's New Road

Outlaw's, 6 New Rd, Port Isaac

Years ago Nathan Outlaw closed his two Michelin star fish restaurant and opened new road in its place. Free from the burden of trying to maintain these overbearing standards he is now free to just welcome you in and make you great food. And freedom never tasted so good.
Outlaws new road is a masterclass in cookery. They serve up an array of fish dishes with no frills just brilliant flavour combinations and precision execution and seasoning. The flavour displayed by these simple fish preparations was nothing short of extraordinary.
The restaurant has a gorgeous view and laid back vibe with service that is friendly and unpretentious.

Small sea food café (only 8 seating) but what a place!! Excellent choice of sea food and wine for a very affordable price. It easily compares to a high end restaurant !

We had a wonderful meal at Outlaw’s Fish Kitchen last Thursday lunchtime. Excellent food and wine with great front of house staff. Would recommend the lobster to everyone, especially as we could see the boat that had caught it that morning.
Having spent the week in Padstow and having eaten at many of the excellent restaurants Padstow has to offer, we can easily say Outlaw’s Fish Kitchen was our favourite of the holiday!
If you are in Cornwall and enjoy your food and wine, put it on your list please.

A hidden gem overlooking a peaceful cove. Best come prepared to sit outdoors so you can make the most of the view of the sheltered quiet cove away from the bustle of Port Isaac which is close by. Delicious small plates with great flavour mixes. Good for coffee and drinks too.

Mum wanted to see where doc martin was filmed and the pharmacy. We went in to get some fudge and magnet and the owner explained how they changed his shop around. Looks bigger on tv than in real life lol

These were the best pasties we had in Cornwall, believe me we tried a few. The pastry was light and crisp but strong enough to hold the very tasty and full filling. If you visit Port Isaac do not walk past this little shop you will regret it.

Last night I visited the restaurant with seven of my family. Young to old. This was the first time that we had visited. I was uncertain as to what the experience would be like.
I, and the family, were very impressed with the ambience, the food and the service. The food was excellent and the service also. The menu catered for the varying tastes. Service was not rushed. And the food was served as freshly cooked ( not left under lamps for eons!). And the food seemed reasonably priced.
All in all an excellent experience.
I would particularly like to thank Chantelle, Ebony and Isobel for their service. Well done. A great job!
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good food, service and atmosphere.

I recently took a short break to north Cornwall, the undoubted highlight of which was the unbidden but most welcome discovery of The Chapel nestled in the charming harbour village of Port Isaac.

I somehow felt drawn in and was not disappointed! I found within a truly warm welcome, and received consistently top notch service from friendly amenable staff for whom nothing was too much trouble.

From first impressions to an amazing last night’s meal, each time I went, I left feeling so glad for the visit. All the staff made both me and my beloved Cockapoo, Cookie, feel genuinely at home.

Housed in a beautifully converted historic chapel, I experienced a taste of heaven on earth and left with culinary memories which will last a lifetime.

I popped in couple of times for a pot of tea and a sweet treat. I highly recommend the ramblejack - an utterly delicious, delux upgrade on the classic flapjack with dates, peanut, coconut and chocolate. I returned again and chose the Cornish Crab Cheese Rarebit - absolutely delicious, washed down with an exquisite perfectly chilled glass of white wine.

It was a no brainer to enjoy my last night’s meal at The Chapel and it certainly didn’t, in any way, disappoint. I enjoyed a most sumptuous Fisherman’s Platter followed by a delicious white chocolate and raspberry Blackwell dessert, served with Cornish Clotted Cream was to die for. Even the choice of background music was perfect for creating the right mood for the moment.

And to top it all, I received simply the best care and attention from Emily. She was brilliant. Her grace and good humour, her kindness and care, her warmth, passion, energy and commitment to excellence shone through. What a privilege and a joy to behold. She seemed to just know instinctively when to draw near, what to offer and how to deliver the most amazing dining experience I’ve ever had. Thank you so much. ☺️

Service was okay, but the batter of the fish was very thick. And the Thai mussels didn't taste very Thai. But good to stop for a liquid refreshment, they have a wide range of local beers

A very special place with a chance to sip a cider whilst sitting on the sea wall watching the sun set and last night had a beautiful meal. Gentle easy service, beautiful fish dishes and know we will be back again.
