I visited Casa Romana when visiting family in Carlisle, as they live just nearby. I had also seen Grace Dent's review in the Guardian which gave me a warm feeling about the place. It lived up to this expectation. The room is light and airy and feels quite classy but without an inflated price tag. Visited for happy hour in December . The restaurant was busy but the service was great. Good selection of food and reasonably priced. Very close to the railway station, shops and bars.

Beautiful restaurant with friendly and totally efficient service from two nice waiters. Food was served piping hot and came quickly. Delicious food. Dessert was a real treat. Well worth a visit!
