Super cafe for the end of a hike. You can park for £6 and redeem the parking charge for coffee and tea. Brilliant! Watch out for Pebbles the cat who might hike some of the way with you too

We had a delightful rest at the Poet's Cafe in June 2023 after a long hike. It is about 15 minutes walk from Grasmere town center and very quiet, and peaceful. If you sit outside the view is stunning. We had a couple of lovely plant-based dishes which were tasty and original followed by a flapjack and some fudge. If you enjoy a great view and a quiet setting, you're in for a treat.

Relaxed and friendly cafe at end of our Helm's Crag Hike. New girl, learning the ropes, was super friendly and accommodating despite it being her first day. Yummy bacon breakfast bap for my husband and vegan breakfast bap for me. Delightful coffee and outdoor picnic benches in sunshine and shade complete with water bowls for thirsty pups.Highly recommend a stop here.
