Whilst camping locally we decided to pop in for an afternoon meal after a walk, the service from the staff was excellent from start to finish even though they were short staffed there was no waiting for drinks, food or the table to be cleaned. The food itself was well priced and with a decent variety too and will definitely be back, which we did the following day for Sunday lunch, which again was a great meal for the 2 of us and was perfectly cooked. We'll be back that's for sure.

Good beer selection. Nice food which is obviously locally prepared and cooked. Recommend reserving table. Can be busy at weekends

This review is purely a review based upon coming to eat here without a room or any reservation. The staff were nice however there is a certain attitude to all staff which makes you feel like they are better than you, the staff member serving our table was very nice with a kind and funny attitude. The prices are quite high for the food quality how the presentation is relatively nice and better than any restaurant. The dinning room is nice and clean with nice views around the hotel. The foods taste was good however I have had better at cheaper prices. The major problem I had was that the high chair provided had no way to tighten to secure my daughter which left us eating with her on our knees. I would come here again in a bind but it wouldn’t be a first choice.Food & drinks: Pricey but good tasting

What a wonderful, quiet campsite. Very clean and tidy with wonderful views. Very well organised and lovely clean shower block. Good evening meal, reasonably priced with vegetarian options. Staff very friendly and welcoming. What not to like! Will definitely return.

Sat outside in the sun. Had scampi and chips and I wasnt impressed. I have eaten here before and the food was lovely and hubby had a beef with gravy sandwich which he said was delicious and it looked it, but the scampi was a cheap frozen variety and not very nice. We will be back to eat again and I would recommend the food....just not the scampi.

We ate there as a large group so service and ambience was always going to be challenge, but they did well. Food was firmly in the pub grub range, but very good. Resonably priced wine and good beer, and if you have a sweet tooth....drop the starter and head straight for the desserts!

We came across The Duke Of York on our travels through the peak district, my partner and I stopped for a meal and some warmth in this cosy little pub and restaurant, with a real log fire in the restaurant and lovely views of the countryside. I started with the breaded whitebait, the breading was crispy with the inside still nice and soft. For the mains we had lamb shank and the steak and ale pie. The shank fell off the bone and was tender, portion huge. Sitting on a bed of mash and served with gravy and veg on the side. The pie served with nice crispy chips and pie crust topping. The pie and shank accompanied with the best gravy either of us have tasted, and would travel for that alone! We finished with the cheesecake and treacle sponge, the portion size again was excellent. For both value for money and quality of the food this is a place we want to be coming back to! The Duke Of York, for the 2 of us 1 starter, 2 mains and 2 puddings with a coffee tea and coke it came to £60.

Stayed at the campsite for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. It's a lovely, quiet site surrounded by fields and many walks. The shower/toilet block was lovely and clean and it's a cute little pub. 10 minute drive into Buxton. We will definitely be back.
