Just one reason I couldn’t give this 5/5 and in truth there is nothing The George can do about this (I believe) and this is the parking they have what they have but it was a challenge for my disabled dad if I could make the score 4.5/5 I would have. Onto the important stuff the food and service. One of my wife’s favourite venues is the Magpie cafe at Whitby where she loves the monkfish bites. At The George she had fish and chips with posh peas. Wow excellent food. Went in from word of mouth and it didn't disappoint. The quality of the meal was outstanding. Staff very attentive and affable. Made to feel very welcome .Highly recommended thanks. Steak and ale pie was a great choice.

Would strongly recommend The George at Clay Cross. We have just eaten the best Sunday lunch. The beef was perfection, so tasty. My partner chose the fish option which was equally delicious. The potatoes were so buttery and the roast potatoes were golden and crispy together with a good selection of vegetables. Home made cheesecake ? . If you enjoy good food The George at Clay Cross is the place to go.
