When planning a weekend visit to Castleton I read in other reviews that everyone was strongly recommending that we would need to book somewhere for a meal. I saw this restaurant on TripAdvisor and the reviews sounded good and the prices looked reasonable so we decided to book. This was an excellent decision. Lovely food, all the courses we had were delicious - the beef short rib etc for the Sunday lunch was particularly nice. Service was a little slow but the staff were very apologetic about this and removed the desserts from our bill. Desserts were also delicious. Cosy restaurant with nice lighting with a very central location and helpful staff. Only suggestion is that the toilets definitely could do with some TLC - they are clean most definitely but need some tidying up/refresh.
Delightful restaurant, run by very friendly, helpful, and attentive staff serving extremely tasty food in lovely surroundings. The excellent wine list is an added bonus. Made the 90-minute journey to meet friends who travelled equally as far more than worthwhile. John and Liz(Doncaster)
