Gorgeous place, stayed 2 nights, could have stayed a week! Comfy room above bar, not noisy, just gentle babble. Menu amazing, tasted lots of things, local fare, filling and tasty, home-made, all stunning, great staff, good wines.Loved the location, walks from door, view of hills from our room.
After a circular walk from Hope, we stopped off at the pub for a drink, a couple were just coming out and had recommended the Sunday lunch, easily tempted as we are, I asked if there was a table free, the very kind gentleman behind the bar (Steve?) accommodated us and had said that we could have it for an hour and half as it was reserved for later, greatly appreciated this and was plenty of time to enjoy a pudding too!! What a delightful find! Cheshire Cheese Inn was the perfect spot after our Mam Tor adventure. The innkeeper's pie and spinach-feta pie were both generous portions and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend for a satisfying post-hike meal!PS: Thanks to "Perfect Pub Walks" for introducing us to this gem! :
