It's a wonderful setting. It's a listed building thats quaint and quirky. A stunning pub.The beer and cider is always clean and fresh.However be prepared to get lighter if you go on the shelf they are a little above tariff in my opinion.The food is sometimes outstanding, and others times passes. The last time we were there the food was good overall. The Sunday lunch was terrific! Great portions, the meat was fantastic, a great choice of sides to accompany the roast, extra gravy as standard. Simply wonderful. Dare I say the best roast I’ve had in a long time…? We shall certainly return.

I don't normally write reviews, however we have visited the Stanhope on various occasions for both food and drinks! I must say 'Will' always greets us with the most warmest smile and kindness. Nothing is ever too much and he always goes the extra mile. We've recently moved from Manchester and tried many local pubs, The Stanhope Arms exceeds all of our expectations! Keep up all the good work guys!
