The Five Bells
Five Bells, 17 High St, Bassingham, LincolnGreat place if you have Coeliac Disease. I’ve been recently diagnosed so was nervous to eat out. But the owner was very reassuring answering all of my annoying questions. He explained they have 5 fryers and the chips are fried in their own fryer so there’s no risk of cross contamination. I had the fish and chips and crème brûlée, both were delicious. I heard a few others ordering gluten free while we were there too. Just be sure to book in advance as it’s very popular. The only thing I would improve is if they add an allergy flag or label for each plate when they come out, just to make us anxious ones feel a bit safer. Lovely cosy, old pub. Can’t wait to go back.Dietary restrictions: Almost everything can be made gluten free, seems pretty safe for Coeliacs as I had no reactions.
