We searched online for somewhere to have lunch in Axminster. The Castle Inn revealed it had 4.5 out of 5. We were not disappointed.The pub was quiet, but we had arrived just after meals were starting to be served. We were invited to choose a table in the restaurant. Amazing gluten free menu with great hosts. From roast dinner on a Sunday only precooked with your meat order. To every day a very good variety on the menu. Amazing home made gluten free apple and blackberry crumble mmmmmmmmm. Thank you both for your great service ?

We were warmly welcomed by Sharon and Paul into their traditional pub, a great start particularly after the wet miserable weather outside. The menu had such variety and catered for everyone. We had curried parsnip soup and whitebait then I had Moussaka and hubby had hunters’ chicken - both delicious. We even played ‘shut the box’ (they have a wide selection of games to use) while we waited for the chicken to be cooked from fresh. Altogether it was a lovely evening.
