Popped in here twice in the last week. Once just for a drink, once to eat. On both occasions the staff were really friendly and helpful. The real ale was excellent and the food was freshly prepared and very tasty. The whitebait was particularly good.
If you're looking for passable food, daft laughs, and an affable bar maid then look no further than the cannon. As an avid Gooner, I first visited due to the name (and also as it's down the road from my mates mam and dad's), and I have to say I was welcomed with open arms (not literally). The guest ales are superb, and the bi-weekly quizzes are nothing short of groin wreckers every time. Honestly, if you're in the area I urge you to stop by. We hadn't meant to eat there but had had a mishap with my car, so we took a chance. It was really quite busy but we were made welcome and the food was delicious! Very kind staff. Would definitely recommend ? My sausage and mash was the small amount appetite version! Great value.
