Beautiful ancient pub, incredibly friendly and genuine staff who put me and my brother in front of a huge wood burning stove – it was a freezing night – and then served us the most delicious food I've had for a long time. Really loved the setting - a proper cosy, country pub! The Sunday roast was tasty and there was a nice selection of veg, including cauliflower cheese. The roast was on the expensive side, and everything was a few £ more than on the online menu. The roast was a decent size portion although we weren’t overly full and had room for dessert. Had a Wednesday night curry for my birthday supper. It was a little quiet but the other diners made for a good ambience and the setting, in the dining room, being festively decked out, and all, was good.Service was always helpful n provided with advice (on the menu) and a smile.Loved the curry and we will b back!2 starters, 2 drinks and 2 mains came in at c£65. Curry was £15.Parking: Apparently, if the pub car park is full, the village hall offers more spaces.
