Not local to this part of the country but received a recommendation to visit Verrills. Arrived at 12 noon and there was a queue out of the door. Plenty of staff serving and our order was taken and paid for. We had to wait for our fish which was freshly cooked, and took up the offer of 'scraps' to accompany our fish and chips.Beautiful thick white cod perfectly cooked was enjoyed sitting nearby at the headland. Chips were a little bit small but we're well cooked. Very enjoyable

Took the dog for a walk and then decided to pop in the fish shop for some dinner absolutely first class nice and hot and not reheated over and over again like some fish shops would definitely recommend to

My father started using Verrills in the 1930s. He returned for a visit about 15 years ago and they are as good now as they ever have been. We visit every year when in the area and we wouldn’t go to any other chippy. Excellent food, great price. I wish we could get fish and chips like this in the Midlands.
