Four of us had lunch today and it was excellent, from initial warm and helpful greeting (I had forgotten to book) onwards. Excellent choice of food, even for non-meat eaters. Menus change from day to day apparently, so our friends told us. Quality of the food was excellent, all four main meals were delicious as was the dessert two of us shared. All this and in lovely surroundings too. Definitely a place we will go to again and take friends.
I was more than pleasantly surprised to taste the perfectly cooked fish and chips meal at the Bricklayers Arms yesterday lunchtime 30th March 2023.Not only were the fish and chips with of course mushy peas,perfectly cooked but in addition the ingredients were obviously of a high quality.Well done ,and this coming from someone who migrated south from the land of fish and chips.

Carl n Paula run a very nice pub infact, the exact sort of pub they want to go to so. The beer is kept exceptionally well and the food whilst not fancy is created and cooked freshly for you. The portions are generous and served by people who want you to have a lovely meal. Would we recommend this pub as a good watering hole to refresh and feed the weary traveller? Absolutely!!
