The Kings Arms

From the moment we arrived, we were met with genuinely lovely, welcoming people who immediately made us feel at home. We were even offered access to gas and water completely FREE of charge — with no expectation whatsoever to purchase food or drinks. That kind of generosity is incredibly rare.
Of course, we were more than happy to support them — and we’re so glad we did. The food was nothing short of exceptional. Freshly prepared, beautifully presented, and truly gourmet — easily the best meal we’ve had on our travels so far!
Our dog was warmly welcomed too, which always makes such a difference. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, with locals who were engaging, kind, and accommodating.
There is one pitch with electric and water hook-up, plus additional spaces if you’re off-grid. We had the most peaceful night’s sleep right beside the spacious pub garden — perfect for our dog to enjoy.
No pressure, no rush to leave, just a calm and genuinely enjoyable stay. We even had time to explore the charming village before heading off.
We honestly couldn’t recommend this place more highly. It’s officially our number one stop so far — and we’ve found some real gems along the way!
If you’re passing through, do yourself a favour and stop here… and whatever you do, don’t miss out on the food — it’s truly outstanding! ?

The Boars Head Inn Crowborough
Boars Head Rd, Boarshead, CrowboroughLovely pub with true historic looks and a charming inglenook fireplace. Good food and a friendly atmosphere! Easy parking and there's a bus stop right nearby. They have seating and shelter out of doors as well.
