Quality fish and chips, highly recommend. Reasonably priced. Friendly, helpful staff. Bit of a gem in town, competing with many other restaurants in the High St.. Also takeaway service.Parking: There r a number of paid parking options. Jempsons Supermarket, opposite train station, Wish Street Car Park. All around £1 per hour. There are very few free street parking places, I assume occupied, I assume, by locals. The above mention paid parking are within 5 minutes walk to Marino's.
This is definitely the best fish and chips in the U.K. The freshly caught cod are enveloped in the lightest, crispiest batter which is in no way greasy and creates a cocoon in which the fish cooks to perfection, revealing fat flakes of steaming deliciousness when you cut into it. The chips are crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside - light and full of flavour. We always get fish and chips here when we visit and it always seems busy which is no surprise. Heartily recommend.
Very nice fish and chip restaurant and take away. Ate in on a busy Saturday evening. Prices are reasonable, not cheap and not expensive. Decent cod and chips. Nice burgers with salad. Pot of tea only does one cup. Alcohol available. Service wise it's fine, but staff hand plates to you in the air rather than put it down on the table for you.
