Excellent food (especially the Thai), lovely welcoming atmosphere, and a vast array of drinks. The manager there is also a Sommelier so his knowledge of good wines and recommendations are well worth listening to
The welcome is heartfelt and warming. The food incredible, so much meat and a wonderful selection of vegetables, all piping hot. The beer and wine first class and nothing matches this for value for money. The service and attention to detail of the highest level. Boris and George run a pub which is one of the best in Essex. We are so glad to have found this place, a hidden gem. The monthly Big Breakfasts are also a must.

After a bad week, a visit to the Norton was great. Boris is most knowledgeable behind a bar, adding little twists to drinks and full of suggestions if you aren't sure what to have.Food was very nice and very reasonably priced. Very happy and will be back soon
