2 Coast Rd, West Mersea, ColchesterAbsolutely fantastic, the food and drinks are top notch. And all the staff are wonderful. We go there nearly every weekend and the staff are more like friends than anything else. Also the gallery connected to the cafe is a wonderful place such a lovely atmosphere and a wonderful selection of art works. Sadly the current owners of the art cafe are retiring and selling up.

St Cedds Clubhouse
E End Rd, SouthminsterA lovely little place with friendly staff and cheap prices for everything - food, drink and even a 50p per game pool table! Where do you get that nowadays?! Oh and also a great outdoor area for kids in the summer. Lovely place to visit :)

Mersea Island Fish Bar
37 High St, West Mersea, ColchesterWe previously had a couple of poor experiences here and have not been for some while. We decided to give it another chance and so pleased we did. The fish was cooked fresh and was delicious. Large meaty chunks of cod. The batter was crisp and not at all greasy. The chips were also well cooked. The staff were very friendly and professional. It’s not cheap but then you get what you pay for. We will definitely go back.

The Two Sugars Cafe
Victoria Esplanade, West Mersea, ColchesterA very nice little cafe on the beach.
The food is good and reasonably priced.
The service is good with really friendly staff.
This is a great place to stop after a walk on the beach.
