I had read that this is the oldest pub in Cirencester and I make a point of visiting these in each place I visit. This one was fine, not sure at first as the guy behind the bar seemed to be here, there and everywhere but he was listening and he did serve what we wanted!! It is a bit like a Yate's bar, aimed at the more astute clientele who count the pennies but still want a good atmosphere, it suited us down to the ground and we popped in the next day for more of the same. Fabulous traditional pub iin the heart of Cirencester with great value pub food served to a very high quality. Friendly staff and owner make it a very busy pub popular with visitors and locals alike. Highly recommended

Ate and drank at the Black Horse during a short pre Xmas break, and found us using this great pub as a base. What’s not to like, friendly Staff and great cheap tasty food, log fire, ok it’s a gas fire but who cares?? Would love a pub like this in my village in South Wales, will definitely return soon.
