Kings Arms Town and Country Pub
Ross Road, NewentFood was absolutely delicious I had steak and ale pie with mash and possibly the best gravy I’ve ever had. Lovely friendly atmosphere, I was recommended by a friend and I have no hesitation in passing on the recommendation to others.

The Bombay Kitchen
1 Church St, NewentReally good food - we had the lamb Jalfrezi which was enjoyably hot, and the begum bahar, which was new to us but absolutely delicious. Ordering and delivery went smoothly and it arrived earlier than predicted.

Cobblers
7 Church St, NewentPopped in on Friday night for the first time since moving to Newent at the end of November 23. We were made to feel very welcome not just by the bar team but also the customers sitting around us. Great atmosphere, good range of drinks at sensible prices. What’s not to like? Brucie bonus, they’re dog friendly and our little Libby loved it.

Charlotte Cafe @ Malswick House
Charlotte cafe @ Malswick House, NewentWe stopped here on our way to our destination and by chance it was a nice place for food. The pub itself felt a little weird, you'd have to see it to understand and I'm not saying it in a bad way, just a weird layout for a pub. But, the lady behind the bar was very friendly. She recommended The Argos? I think it was called for lunch and it was delicious, I finished every bite but couldn't move after! No regrets. There's a massive beer garden and a car park right outside. TV, pool table, kid-friendly. Would happily stop here again if we're ever passing by.Parking: Plenty of it. Easy to find.Kid-friendliness: There was a kid in the bar, so I assume they're allowed in.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp outside, step-free.

Newent Tandoori
34 Broad St, NewentWe are a curry club for over ten years. Today's curry at the newent tandoori was up there with the best we have experienced. I had the begum baghar, which is a different choice from one I usually take, and found it tasty and well presented. Both poppadoms, starters and mains were excellent and used fresh ingredients. The staff were attentive throughout and not one complaint from the ten of us. All said they enjoyed their meal

Sizzling Wok
13A Church St, NewentHave booked delivery meals from here for past 12/18 months. Not every week/month I stress!!!!
Every delivery has been on time (if not early), correct with nothing missing and extremely tasty. Good quality food.
Even if we now drive to Newent to get a Chinese - it’s always from the Sizzling Wok
Well done team, you are great.

The Crusty Loaf
4 Broad St, NewentTried the bakery while on holiday. Steak slice and chicken mushroom slice were fantastic! Sausage roll was a bit too salty for my taste. Doughnuts tasted more like supermarket ones. Chocolate chip shortbread and bakewell tart were excellent. Nicole provided very friendly customer service.

The Kilcot Inn
Ross Rd, Kilcot, NewentReally good food. Lamb shank was absolutely incredible. Lamb fell off the bone, was so tender. The mash was creamy and the red wine sauce completed the meal. Started off with the white bait. Again, delicious. Great meal and lovely little restaurant.

The Gallery Carvery & Restaurant
Ledbury Rd, Botloe's Green, NewentWe stopped here for lunch because we wanted to use the electric car charging facilities (which are excellent btw) on our way to Hay on Wye, the garden centre looks great but being a long way from home we didn't bother having a look around. Also we were both starving hungry after a long drive, so we went straight to the restaurant. Once we located a menu and joined the queue to order we were initially dismayed to see no hot food bubbling away under lamps, but totally committed now we ordered and then returned to our table and settled down for a long wait. So we were delighted when after what seemed like just a few minutes our lunch arrived. I had a Speciality Burger and my wife a Mare Rose baked potato with prawns(lots of them), both were excellent! The burger was wonderful, freshly cooked, succulent and not over salted like so many are, just what a hungry driver needed! It set me up for the rest of the day. The staff were friendly and quirky (comes from living in the border country I suppose), but probably a bit frazzled as it was gone 2pm on a Saturday afternoon when we arrived with lots of people still eating. Not cheap (where is?) ,but good value considering the excellent quality food and fast service. Would thoroughly recommend.

The Tudor Fish & Chip Shop
14 Broad St, NewentSaturday 6th August went in for a takeaway. The delivery driver was behind the counter cooking food for himself, no hat or apron on, then eating walking up and down the shop. Husband noticed he put fish in the fryer for an order, very unhygienic. The staff were not very welcoming and the language was awful. Our chips were swimming in grease the cardboard tray was brown and had a pool of oil in the corner when tipped to the side.
