Smashing not smash. Told err in doors and the kids that was going to be my title and they looked at me blank, obvs not children of the 70's. (For mash get Smash - google it) Anyway as usual I digress. We had 4 meals and all were superb or to go back to the 80's super, smashing, great. First time at the Whitehouse for at least 25 years and the place hasn’t changed one bit … in a good way.Arrived at 545 on a Saturday afternoon you can’t book unless larger table over 5 but went early it was rammed already which is a good sign .Food gammon eggs very tasty lady had steak strips in a spicy sauce all enjoyed very much two pints of cider and two large red wines £52 all comparable to the other. Love this place. Always a warm welcome and great food. 30-40 minutes drive from home but well worth it. Comfortable and relaxed. Never had a complaint with anything I've ordered. Especially cozy in winter when the big open fire is going. I always have the Cumberland sausage and my GF has a roast dinner, we can never fit dessert in.
