Love this place. Staff are so friendly and kind as you walk in and at the bar they make you feel so welcome. Liz, Nicole and Anya are amazing at what they do, quickly serving drinks and keeping the atmosphere alive and happy. Definitely recommend ??

Red Lion

Quiet pub, definitely a locals pub. Good was good, decent enough menu. As we were driving, no one was on alcohol but it looked a good selection.

Lady's Toilets were a bit of a mess.

Highlight was feeding the goats outside with the volunteers. Amazing!!

Red Door Bistro

First time visiting. Was slightly concerned as it was almost empty. We asked the only other couple there if the food was nice. They said it was, so we stayed. So glad we did! We both opted for the slow cooked roast beef (Sunday lunch). It was GORGEOUS! I don't think I'm exaggerating by saying it was the nicest roast beef I've ever had. The meat just fell apart, it was so soft and succulent. The gravy was amazing, the potatoes and the veg (cabbage with a hint of cinnamon and carrots and turnip) was so sweet. Everything went so well together. I didn't really have space for pudding, so shared sticky toffee pudding with my husband. My favourite part was the toffee sauce, YUMMY! We've booked to go back on valentines day.
The chef is also the owner. She's fantastic. She came out and spoke with us a couple of times. Everything is cooked freshly, table by table. The menu is different every day, depending on what she buys. I'd definitely recommend you give it a try. I'd give 10 stars if I could.

Pesto at the Dicconson Arms

Had a wonderful afternoon Tea here. Quick service . Only let down was I asked for another pot of tea but they did not bring it. We left soon after. But decor is beautifull . Would recommend

The White Lion

Absolutely brilliant place, the food was gorgeous and huge portion size. There are smaller portion options. I'm sorry I didn't get pictures but that just means we have to go back. ?

Stag Inn

stopped at the stag for a quick bite to eat. the food was amazing and didn’t wait long for it. would recommend the philly steak. the barmaid Sophie recommended it to me. will definitely be back. lovely spot for all.

The Wheel Restaurant

What a lovely mid week meal out, made and served by a great bunch of talented teens supported by great college staff. The tables were dressed for christmas and service as to expect in a regular restaurant with the added bonus of being able to see the students at work in the kitchen. Our waiter was attentive and ensure all needs attended to. The bar staff ensured we were never left thirsty. The food was wonderful although I would advise just a light lunch before hand as the serving were generous! Thank you all for a lovely evening.

The Old Band House

Me and my partner came here and it was amazing! The food was amazing and the service was also outstanding. The staff made us feel very welcome and was very frequent to know if we needed anything else or to see if everything was okay! 4 tapas dishes, a garlic bread pizza, a pint and a lemonade come to £50 which is really good! Thank you so much!

Went for lunch as I had passed many times but never been in, I was so impressed the staff were lovely warm welcoming and helpful, the atmosphere was cool and chilled vibe with a nice background music level and the interior decor was trendy and niche, giving new Orleans vibe.
When the food came it was delicious I had the halloumi taco which was so flavour packed and then I had the salt and pepper fries, again delicious.my friend had the dancing prawns and halloumi fries, and whilst the prawns did not dance they were delicious.
The owner stopped by and we had a lovely conversation really made us feel welcome. Would definitely return

Papa Luigis Wigan

I have been visiting this restaurant for many years. The food has always been excellent. the staff are attentive and friendly and Ana is an excellent host. I cannot recommend this place enough. We are truly lucky to have this in Wigan.

Balcarres Arms

A cracking pub with really nice food. A proper pub with sky sports, loads of choice of drinks and food. Very good prices too. I had the steak baguette and chips, very tasty!

Posthouse

Bailey was fantastic on Saturday night while collecting our glasses. He was polite, friendly, and really efficient at keeping the place tidy without ever getting in the way. It made such a difference to have someone so reliable and hardworking on the team — everything ran smoothly thanks to his effort. Would definitely recommend Bailey & Lohan Serving us our cocktails was also brilliant

Raj Gate

My first time at Raj Gate came with my sister and two neices we all had a lovely time, food was delicious and quite big portions. Service was spot on, we all would definitely recommend 100% ?

Moved to wigan from Canada. Was missing family and wanted some good curry. Mr amir came to serve me. Asked him to make me something that would feel like home cooked. Mr amir and the chef understood the assignment and made a very delicious lamb curry.

It was good for 2 people, but the taste and reminder of home made me end up devouring the whole plate ?

Left a review before but it was 3 stars as some of it was good but some of the order was ok. I have came back and want to leave a 5 star review. I decided to try again and I am so glad I did. Food was delicious and pipping hot. Pakora was perfect. From starters to main was perfect. Garlic Naan the way it should be, light warm and fresh.
I will be ordering again soon

La Sentidos Loca

Me and the family love this place, there service is on another level. The staff are always friendly, the food is banging and has such a welcoming atmosphere and all round great vibe.

Great food. Low prices. Had two courses from the seniors menu for an incredible £6.49. Generous portion, cooked beautifully, lovely friendly staff and another doggie friendly establishment to add to my lists of great venues. Highly recommended.

Ate here for the 1st time for the wife's birthday 23rd July. Simply superb. Amazing tasting food and service. Took advantage of the two course special offer. £16.95 per head. As above food and service was fabulous. Highly recommend.

Park Hotel

I grew up on the estate opposite the Park and haven’t been in there in over thirty years. The decor is warm and inviting, the food absolutely top notch, especially the dessert! The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and we had a superb experience. Next time I’m back from Canada I’ll be making it a priority to eat here ?

Took my family last week, what a nice friendly pub. Staff were great. I was served by the manager Becky. She was lovely and really made us all smile! The pub was clean and tidy and the food came out pretty quickly!

Rivaj

Booked as a family group for a Christmas Eve meal. Service and food were outstanding. Food was very fresh and tasty. We loved it and have recently had a takeaway, too, which was of the same standard. I think Rivaj maybe our new go to restaurant/takeaway for our Indian food.

Simply Thai Wigan

Been here twice this month with my partner we both love it. The foods always amazing! Everything is fresh flavourful, and cooked perfectly. Lovely staff and atmosphere, will definitely be returning again!

Fat Olive Restaurant

Came here for Christmas dinner first time ever eating out for Christmas service with a smile, great pace for serving food and they was extremely busy aswell. Food was amazing as always. Staff couldn’t do enough for you making sure they checked if you needed anything. My son decided to swap desert last minute as we pre ordered due to Christmas Day so wouldn’t of been a problem if they couldn’t and they did that with no bother the restaurant didn’t look chaotic everybody was seated enjoying family time overall experience 20/10 and I will never cook again Christmas Day see you next year guys.

Ordered a takeaway tonight for the first time at Moonlight. All the food was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. The kitchen and waiting area was very clean. I introduced myself as Andy :)

Wheatlea Park Brewers Fayre

I'm giving it a 4 as we had to wait for the breakfast to be refilled. But I have to give kudos to the staff it was a very busy Sunday morning ?. Every table was full. And they did not disappoint that much.

Please please do something with the coffee machine. Still only give half a cup in a capachino.

The Paddock

The food is always nice but the prices are quite high now. It's about £17 for a hot sandwich with a side of chips. About £10 for a cold sandwich. Nice staff and atmosphere though.

Sapore Italiano

Ordered a smash burger and it was amazing, and I would highly recommend it. The sauce was delicious and the burger itself was piping hot and tasted divine with the other toppings. Will definitely be ordering again.

Bengal Spice

Always used this place, first time had a prob with delivery. But these things happen. Great people to talk to on the phone and problem was rectified. 5 stars from me for food and service.

I was driving around the area with my partner today when we thought about something to eat before continuing our journey home.

The restaurant is outskirts of Wigan - we left the M6 to eat here! Located in Marus Bridge retail park.

Very busy area (even today, on Boxing Day) so slew didn’t expect any good.

First impression was that the restaurant was busy but SPOTLESS CLEAN! I mean it as I have comparisons with other restaurants. The floor, the benches and the tables were tidy. Staff was welcoming, even the cleaner guy wished a good appetite and also a lovely day…

Food was HOT, fish burger and cheese burger was nice, well cooked and the sauces in the burgers were at the right place- not like other places all over the box/ wrap!

Congratulations to all who are working there and made this great and surprising experience in.

Tap 'n' Barrel

Worth seeking out - choice of 3 cask beers and a couple of ciders - Windermere Pale is a mainstay and it’s always in excellent condition although the pump clip could do with updating!
More room upstairs along with the toilets.

Peters Chinese Takeaway

I heard this was the best Chinese in Wigan so after many years I decided to try it and now go nowhere else. The food is just so amazing. Very very friendly staff. I cannot recommend highly enough

If the girls smiled it would be 5 all round. They appear to be scared stiff of doing something wrong. Perception is reality in a customers eyes. EDIT. Tonight is the first time I visited and all the girls appeared happy in their work. What a difference. ( For those in charge. You can have high standards and a fun environment at the same time. Look after your assets) Loved it.

Station Café

Very friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit. Very nice food. Had cheese burger & chips, chips were fries and a little too over cooked but still enjoyed. Again very friendly ladies, polite and a joy to visit.

As a HGV driver I travel up and down the UK and got to say this is the best chippy in the UK I have ever been in

Santos Cafe

Not sure why I haven't been here before but I will now make it my go to place when in town.
Ordered a latte then decided on a teacake. Service was great and very friendly, I felt very welcome (I was on my own) food and drink came out quickly. Great prices.
The food that came out for others looked delicious ? so I will order something different next time.

Caffè Nero

Best Cafe Nero I've ever been in. The staff are a happy bunch who obviously love their job and each other. Brilliant service from them as well. They always remember my large cappuccino with soya, even though I'm only an occasional visitor. Keep up the good work.

Galloways Market Place

Nice place, with decent prices. Went in the late afternoon, no queue, friendly woman behind the counter. What I did notice was a fly making itself acquainted with one of the iced fingers, which I thought was a bit disgusting.

Can't give 5 stars as I don't feel like the food is as good as it used to be when it was a lot cheaper, I would say the coffees are well worth buying compared to the more expensive coffee places around Wigan. Staff where friendly.

Basmati Restuarant & take away

We have eaten in the Basmati a few times but it was cold and snowy and we didn't feel like venturing out so ordered a takeaway on line for delivery. Extremely easy to place the order and pay and you can set up an account, so will be even more straightforward next time. Website tells you approximately how long delivery will be but it arrived 15 mins early. Portions are good size and the quality of the food was excellent. Big chunks of chicken and meat in the dishes. Everything was really tasty. Will definitely be ordering from here again.

The Boars Head

Absolutely gorgeous little pub with extremely helpful and pleasant staff. The food was amazing and extremely good value. It was our anniversay and they brought a plate with Happy Anniversay piped in chocolate and some fresh strawberries with our dessert which was a lovely touch. We've been several times and we'll definitely be returning.

I can't recommend them enough in every respect.

BARCELONA BISTRO TAPAS BAR

Myself and husband visited Barcelona Bistro Tapas Bar tonight and cannot recommend it enough. It's a small, family ran restaurant, that served delicious tapas and has wonderful service. Every dish was beautiful! We already cannot wait to return to this gem of a restaurant.

John Bull Chop House

This place is one of a kind . Shame there aren’t more places like it anymore .
The music is amazing and the atmosphere is even better , I was on my own and everyone was so friendly and as a single person I felt so comfortable in here. The cask ale was on top form and the Guinness was some of the best I’ve had anywhere .
The staff were great and really friendly.
Such a quirky little place and the building I was told was almost 600 years old and it oozes character.
An absolute must if you’re ever in Wigan

It was more than expected.

Excellent service staff.
Excellent fries to the food, best I've had for years.
Sallad BLT was great.
Garlic bread could be more garlicy.
Perry pery chicken was a bit bland with the seasoning.
Chicken Garlions was good also.

Nice and calm, not to loud, many rooms to sit. Classic pub but in good condition.

Gerrard Arms

A wonderful Sunday dinner with very reasonably priced options for 2 or 3 courses. We were a group of 5, sampling beef and gammon & everybody was really happy with the quality. The meal wasn't the largest - a bit more veg would have been appreciated, but this was overshadowed by the quality. Fully recommended.

Bear in mind the pub is fairly small and as there are people going just to drink it can be quite noisy with pub banter.

Crooke Hall Inn

Had a great meal nice atmosphere and great for walking with the dog along the canal just remember to put your registration in the ipad at the bar when you park

SPAR Kitt Green

Only place near by that I can find basic stew staples like pearl barley. I've never found it in Asda yet. Shops is kept clean, aisles are nice & wide. Good range of products

Petra Pizza

My go-to place for a local pizza delivery. Kebabs good too. Excellent value for money and good flavour. Delivery always been prompt, staff friendly and food fresh.

Went into the shop and young lad who served us was very polite and patient whilst we decided what we wanted. Once ordered he told us it would be around 15 mins, food came on time, hot and very fresh, the pizza shop itself was very clean and all staff were very well mannered and presented. The pizza was delicious and the wedges are amazing, will certainly go back again.

Tsang's Chippy

Great food, generous portion sizes, staff are lovely. I highly recommend.

Parking: No car park but, people often park on the road in front of the shop, or the streets at the side of across the road from it

Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible for wheelchairs. It's a small chippy and get busy but, the entrance is not ground level, it's a step up to the door

Moghul Tandoori

Got to get the chicken tikka sizzler with your favourite sauce. Comes out hot, fresh and succulent. Rice light and fluffy. Bread fresh and hot. Inexpensive and with it being a bring your own alcohol it’s even more cost effective. Best curry in Wigan

Toronto Pizza

The food was excellent especially the chicken zinger box meal for 7.90 it was amazing I ate it so fast as I enjoyed it thoroughly.props to the worker Ferudun he was a lovely chap

Chop Sticks

I shared a Munchy Box with my friend today and it was absolutely worth it! The box was absolutely packed with food – the portion was massive. It made for a really amazing dining experience. I'll 100% be a repeat customer!

Don Mario Wigan

Don mario is our local takeout, weve been ordering from here years. The food is lovely It hits tht hunger point everytime! ? its clean, the staff are polite & ther always on time if not before. We have just had our order we both had pizza vegetarian & special it was perfect! ?? and you get a free garlic bread & cheese when you spend over £10 on their website, winner all round! Id definitely recommend. Thankyou don mario ?

There a few good takeaways on whelley close to where i reside,oliva is my number 1 go to while at home . Fast delivery time ,good quality. their pitzza dough is something different,i really wish to know their recipe! Try them meat feast ,the meatballs are quite something. They also have kebabs which i tried once and it was amazing .Friendliness is the key to keep customers coming back to your business,they are the master of it . Thank you sir

I orderd a donner meat n chips tonight on my way home from town. A man knocked my food out of my hands so I went back to order again But I didn't have enough money and I left. 2 mins later they shouted me and they give me the good for free. I can't recommend this place enough.

Domino's Pizza - Wigan

We’ve visited here a few times and our visits are becoming more frequent. With past deals it was coming in around £50-£60 per family visit but now they have made a collection deal to make it much more affordable. Small pizza for £6 medium for £8 large for £10 all with 2 toppings (has to be collection.) This is great value. We got 3 pizzas (1 large, 1 small, 1 medium plus 1 garlic bread it all racked in at around £30) They are all ready within 10-15 minutes from order. The pizza used to be far to saucy and cheesy but now they have found the perfect balance and it tastes great. The dough is also freshly prepared and has the correct amount of thickness. The balance of dough sauce and cheese combine well. The pizza is greasy but I had pepperoni so it’s inevitable that it would be. When your collecting the staff are friendly with you. The pizza has always been decent but now it’s getting even better and with the price coming down with this collection deal. I would strongly recommend anyone living round here pays this place a visit.

ordered a meat feast tonight ham beef bacon and pepperoni but it came with chicken. I hate chicken! phoned them and was told that's what they have on their menu. order off just eat which doesn't say chicken.won't be ordering from here again

Came today for my daughters 6th Birthday, we had the pleasure of having the ladies Emma and Kayleigh on shift that day, they was both absolutely amazing and was really engaged giving Kacy and amazing day, everyone at the party has said how amazing they was and how well the day went. Thank you Emma and Kayleigh, you really made my little girls birthday that little bit extra special.

Kawa's Coffee and Wine Bar

Frankly I was originally going to go to the cafe near there but it was full so me and my friends decided to go here and omg it is a hidden gem. The latte is amazing and frankly for a medium size it is huge. I wonder what the large size is. Well what I know for sure is that they gained a new regular lol

Me and my partner started having four seasons’ meal preps since a couple of week ago. They’re so convenient, healthy and tasty. We’ve previously had meal preps from a different company and these are much fresher and the customer service is fantastic.

I got salt and pepper chicken balls, salt and pepper chips and egg fried rice.

The chicken balls were good but needed more seasoning in my opinion

Egg fried rice was lovely and fluffy and had good flavour.

The food itself is very hot and fresh (I ordered collection.) and has definitely got potential to be perfect with small improvements!

The portions are generous and I struggled to finish even half.

My order came to £15.20 but considering I could definitely feed two is not expensive in my opinion considering how expensive places like McDonald’s have gotten.

There’s a lovely amount of spice and if there were to be more seasoning added these could absolutely be a 5*.

The young man who served me was polite and the place looks clean.

Nipped in for a quick drink with friends. Drinks are reasonably priced and food is cheap too. A spoons alternative.

Millstone

Just moved in to the area and checked out the Millstone, wow! A real pub with old fashioned values ie. Customers come first. Very friendly atmosphere, dog freindly, great beer great host and great beer garden! My new local.

Delph Tavern

Lovely little pub. I’ve been to the Delph many times over the years at different ages and I’ve always loved it! Friendly atmosphere and staff. Large selection of drinks. Not had food here so can’t comment on that but I’d imagine it’s nice!

Kid-friendliness: Lovely little gated park at the back for kids.

Maries Café

First time visit and was impressed.....Food was great and at a really good price which included a drink....Served very promptly even though it was quite busy....Free WiFi too.....Quite a big place with plenty of tables.....Friendly staff but not overbearing.....Would highly recommend 5/5....
