Since moving to Basingstoke I have visited the Portsmouth Arms on a few occasions for lunch, on my own, as well as Sunday lunch with the family. The food is very good, whether you are there for a full meal or snack, the staff are always friendly. There is a good variety of beers available.
Service was absolutely spot on. Connor went above and beyond making sure we had everything we needed. Smiling and talking with a cheerful manner. Food was very generous in portions tasty and hot. Unfortunately a roast potato slightly harder than I would have liked. Table was wobbly. Outside was broken glasses and a few bottles.
