Whitsbury, FordingbridgeVery comfortable rooms, well appointed, peaceful location. The en-suite bathroom was lovely but quite small. The staff are very friendly, polite and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious, home cooked and fresh, overall a quality experience more in line with a hotel than a pub. We would go again!

High St, Woodgreen, FordingbridgeLovely little pub with fantastic service and hospitality. The range on the menu and on tap is small but all you need. We both had the pie with the rioja and it was absolutely 10/10. We live a 50 minute round trip from the pub but it's so worth the drive.

14 Bridge St, FordingbridgeWe didnt have food but came for drinks, lovely pub with a great outside area, rubber duck for sale and a quirky gift shop. Service was good, friendly staff and speedy too. Would recommend, will have to come back and try a roast as we saw some coming out and they looked lush.

Food was amazing and v good sized portion.
I would drive from Fareham whenever I want a doner.
Also, bought the kids pizza meal, and for the price, pizza and fries were larger than expected.

The Fighting Cocks Pub
Godshill, FordingbridgeThe atmosphere and overall experience largely depends on how you view New Forest ponies. Their physical presence and smell is definitely part of the experience and the car park is a manure minefield. The pub itself is very charming and we received a very warm welcome from the landlord. The food was very good and there were some interesting locally sourced options - as an example I had a pork tomahawk steak which was a nice cut. Good options for kids too. The service was okay. It was very friendly, but it did feel like they were a bit overrun. I think this was compounded by it being someone's first day so an allowance needs to be made for that. The bill for 4 with 2 courses and 2 kids was £150 although one child had an adult main course. I thought this was quite good value given the overall quality and tastiness of the food

Belindas really is a lovely bakery and cafe, a brilliant selection of sweet, savoury and beverages along with a friendly welcoming environment from the staff and to top it off lively decor and very clean.

51-53 High St, FordingbridgeNot quite sure where these negative reviews belong have come from. Certainly not the cottage loaf I just tried. Excellent freshly baked pastries. (You can see the kitchen working in the back).
All three pastries we tried for breakfast were excellent and the customer service was good.

Food is fried to order, so a bit of waiting may be required, but it comes out fresh and piping hot, and you can't grumble at that.
Only take cash, which is clearly advertised at the counter, but there's a cash machine just round the corner.
Can only review on our experience, but some of their reviews are frankly baffling. Everything is fried to order, so it's wrapped up very hot. Assuming the reviews saying food is cold must live miles away or have this shop mistaken for somewhere else. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, and this has always been my experience. I get the impression they wouldn't take any nonsense off people, so the entitled and the rude may not receive the same treatment as those who come in polite and respectful.
Been in this evening and we're now sat here happy, with full bellies.

Foresters Arms
Abbots Well Rd, FordingbridgeFood was amazing went back after an awful visit 3 years ago. New owners made us feel very welcome and the whole place was very inviting. This pub is very much in my heart as used to come here with my late husband. Will def be back with the rest of the family very soon. Keep up the good work your smashing it !

Recommend especially if staying at Sandy Balls - order through their website and they delivered to our cabin - include the name and number of your cabin and they will do there best to deliver straight to you. Delivered within the time estimated. All hot and full of flavour!
