Old Beams Inn
New Forest National park, Salisbury Rd, Ibsley, RingwoodI really enjoyed my visit to The Old Beams at Ibsley last Friday lunch time. It was very busy so was glad a table had been booked. Really pleasant pub with a lovely ambiance and good staff. I was there with my husband and friend and 2 golden retrievers and was made most welcome. My meal, scampi and chips and my companions meal of ham, eggs and chips was very tasty, hot and cooked to perfection. The cheesecake with berries was also delicious too. Very pleased with our meals and service. Would recommend. Probably best to book table first.

The Railway Pub and Kitchen
35 Hightown Rd, RingwoodThis is my first time visiting here and I absolutely loved it. I had a Kogi pork cheese burger and my partner had a Animal burger. Both of them are one of the best burgers we’ve ever had. We shared a Korean fries too. It was lovely! I am a Korean and whenever I see something ‘Korean’ on the menu, most of the time it is disappointing. It definitely wasn’t the case this time. So lovely that I ordered another portion of Korean wings after finishing the burgers? The service was great too! We couldn’t ask her name cuz it was busy but she kindly explained the menu and checked if we needed anything. Will definitely visit again!

Cafe Aroma
25 Southampton Rd, RingwoodThere is no sourdough here, unlike all the other establishments in town. Its just good quality breakfasting. We had the egs benedict on bagles, They were really nice. Some of the other "full English " that we saw were enormous plates of food. Really great service given how busy they were and good VFM.

The ElmTree
Hightown Rd, Hightown, RingwoodWe had spent some time wondering at the country park and decided that we would have a late pub lunch / dinner - opting as we was passing, on the Elm Tree. A few pot holes getting into the car park, and the car park didn't seem too busy... which was promising for a table. When we got in, we ended up sitting in the bar area as opposed to the restaurant as it was fully booked - no surprise really last minute on a Sunday. The menu wasn't particularly clear about kids meals on a Sunday (it mentioned kids Sunday lunch not any others) this was clarified by the bar staff as they had 'small plates'... although kids meals (or small plates) are a shocking £10! (One had burger and chips, the other fish and chips). The wife and myself had roasts, which were pretty good - albeit ours came out towards the kids finishing theirs. Credit to the staff as we had a chap apologise there had been a mix up, and the manager (I assume) offered us a free drink at the end as well.Overall, it was OK, I was tempted to score 3 stars due to the meal and wait issue, but I was impressed that they acknowledged it without being prompted, so feel that 4 stars is justified. A bit quicker cleaning tables (I took bits off and gave them to bar when we got seated), some improvements to the menu (particularly for kids - and pricing for kids) and perhaps make the drive into parking a little smoother and then heading in right direction to the 5 stars...

The Inn on The Furlong
12 Meeting House Ln, RingwoodConsidering the general cost of eating out for lunch or brunch, The Furlong pub is reasonably priced & has a varied menu.In good weather it's pleasant sitting outside in the courtyard. It's usually best booking ahead for weekend meals to avoid disappointment.Bubble & Squeak with poached egg & bacon is a welcome option on the menu when out for brunch.A small Roast Beef with veggies & a small Yorkshire Pudding suits me when we have had an occasional Sunday lunch out. It's good to know that there are two plate sizes available.

Queen's Head
The Cross, Burley, RingwoodWent on a Monday evening for a drink.. It was very quiet other than a darts tournament in one corner of the pub. That might have been why there was no music or anything playing but it was lacking a bit of atmosphere. Nice venue though, and would definitely visit again in the summer.

Rockford Green, Rockford, RingwoodWe went for lunch after a walk in the forest. We asked for a table for seven with a high chair. This was no problem. Everyone was so helpful. The food was very good indeed with sausage and mash, fish and chips, and sundry pies. I had a smoked chicken sandwich which was most toothsome. Good ales.Kid-friendliness: We all felt very comfortable taking 4 sprogs with usWheelchair accessibility: My wife uses a wheelchair but acces was so good that she didn't need it to get from the car park

1 Market Pl, RingwoodLovely little place, had a lovely quiet table upstairs- food was ….. OK.. unfortunately my nduja pizza (Calabria) had no nduja and that was my single main reason for choosing that dish- was still nice enough though- bread and olive starter was nice- great selection of breads.. what made our visit however were the staff- our waiter was great- (sorry didn’t catch his name- young male with dark hair) everything was served with a smile, very attentive without being over bearing and made me laugh throughout- a real credit to the restaurant and should be congratulated- thoroughly pleasant young gent.

Price's Fish & Chips
38-40 Christchurch Rd, RingwoodCan’t recommended Price’s highly enough. I find a lot of chippies to be quite average and uninspiring, but this definitely isn’t the case here. Menu is extensive but not just for the sake of it, everything we tried was well thought out and of high quality (battered pigs in blankets are an inspired invention). Most importantly, core items are bang on. Fish and chips are top notch, well seasoned, perfectly cooked, big portions and really good value (we were a large group, half kids half adults and worked out under £8 a head, with plenty of leftovers). Service was perfect, can tell it’s a well run operation and staff were energetic and helpful in the height of Friday evening service. Do yourself a favour and get yourself in there!
