What a pleasant surprise not only was the pub ambience perfect the subdued lighting and roaring fire helped all the staff were brilliant as was the food . The young girl behind the bar was so knowledgeable about the beers and wines on offer simply because ‘she wanted to understand what she was serving’ in her own words . Fantastic Sunday roast, best I’ve ever had! Normally when you have a roast in a pub there’s something not as good as if you cooked it yourself. Everything was perfect and the potatoes were really good. Cannot fault anything. Was better than what I do at home.
Went there last night for the first time. The place was packed until the final bell and it's not hard to see why. The space is old and traditional, warm and welcoming. It was quite obvious that the staff believe in their pub; the service was very good and the host and servers mostly all made the effort for personal contact that felt in no way strained or insincere.
