Lovely meal, great friendly service was really impressed. Only down here for a couple of nights, but so pleased we chose this place, just what we needed after a busy day out in Winchester!

Not been here for almost a year and always the atmosphere was good. Nice cosy pub. Had food this time and was pleasantly surprised how nice it was, finely! Well done to the person who has taken it over to turn it into a quality pub again. This place use to be my local years ago until I moved away from Rownhams. Now I know the food quality has improved, I'll be back again soon as parents still live in the area.

We were staying at the nearby Premier Inn, and fortunately the associated Beefeater was fully booked, I asked for a bit of local guidance from the hotel reception, to be told that this pub is two minutes off site. A missed trick for many as we have used Beefeater many times before and have mainly been disappointed. The staff here are very welcoming, a great selection of good beers. We had a platter, followed by a lamb pie and a chicken chorizo pie. All very good pub standard food....read full review
